Gary Keesee
65 books28 followersGary Keesee was born in New Albany, Ohio and grew up a very shy, quiet kid who preferred being outdoors by himself to being around people. He didn’t make a strong commitment to God until his teen years; and shortly after, he saw a vision of himself preaching to a crowd of people. Everything about him changed after that, and Gary became the guy who told anyone who would listen about the power of Jesus. At the age of 22, Gary moved away to go to a Christian college in Oklahoma.
Drenda grew up in Central Georgia and was Miss I-Can-Do-Anything, class president, honor student and communications extraordinaire. In fact, Drenda’s goal throughout high school was to be the next president of the United States. She was determined never to be married or have children, as they would probably get in the way of her career. But all that changed when she met Jesus Christ and this ex-feminist decided to attend a Christian college in Oklahoma.
And, you can guess what happened next. When Gary’s job as a drapery installer required him to place a job posting on campus, Drenda was the one who answered the ad. The rest, as they say, is history.
A few years and a mountain of debt later, Gary and Drenda felt God’s leading back to the Columbus, Ohio area. Things just kept getting harder, and though they attended church regularly, they just didn’t see any proof that the Word of God was working for many people.
They found themselves with ten maxed-out credit cards, three finance company loans, money owed to relatives, liens, judgments and nowhere to turn. Desperate for real answers to life’s toughest questions concerning faith, family and finances, the Keesees began to get serious about the Bible. It was there they found hope, and through applying answers from God’s Word, their lives truly changed from the inside out.
They paid off all of their debt in two years, made a stronger commitment to their marriage and rebuilt their financial business, catering it toward helping families live financially free. Gary and Drenda became passionate about sharing their story and how God had made all the difference in every aspect of their lives.
Gary and Drenda’s strong desire to minister in the marketplace fueled the creation of their many businesses, which are centered around helping people with their finances. A successful entrepreneur with companies that have helped tens of thousands of clients, Gary continues to encourage Christians to go out into the business world and make a difference.
In 1994, Gary felt the strong call to pastor, and so a group of friends started meeting for a basement Bible study where Gary would share the straightforward principles of the Kingdom of God. That basement Bible study has grown into Faith Life Church, a large gathering of people who share a common vision: living life full of destiny and purpose.
Again, Gary and Drenda wanted to help more people beyond the reach of their congregation, so they founded Faith Life Now. Offering worldwide conferences, weekly television programming, books and other resources, practical financial support and personalized help for people who need answers, Faith Life Now is an extension of the Keesee’s heart to show others the way out.
Gary and Drenda and their family of five children are passionate about getting down to the basics of how to live a different kind of life.

I have read many books on money and how a Christian is supposed to handle money. This book taught me something new.
On page 120 of his book,
THESE LAWS INCLUDE THE TITHE AND OFFERINGS. THE TITHE (MEANING TENTH) IS THE 10 PERCENT OF OUR GROSS INCOME THAT WE GIVE TO THE LORD. THIS SANCTIFIES THE REMAINING 90 PERCENT AS "OFF LIMITS" FROM SATAN AND HIS PLANS AND SCHEMES. How wonderful this was to get into my head. Satan does not have any access to my finances when I tithe. Yeah.
Then later on the same page...
THE TITHE ITSELF DOESN'T PRODUCE INCREASE. OFFERINGS PRODUCE INCREASE. THE TITHE IS SIMPLY THE FENCE AROUND YOUR MONEY. So while this relates to the first portion it hit home that you just can't tithe, you have to go beyonde that.

Great book to start the year with. More relevant and vital for people who live in America and other countries where businesses are done mostly on credit basis through the use of credit ratings and credit cards. For others, it is thought provoking and instructional.

Excellent!!
Mr Keesee's strategy for getting out of debt is simple and genius at the same time. I struggled til I was 40 in the 'earth curse' system of credit, and it consumed my thoughts and much of my time and effort every day just to keep financially afloat... barely. Tips on where to find or create additional cash flow and one-time finds are very helpful and some I would say would only be learned from someone very financially savvy. This is a must-read for everyone in debt, or who knows someone in debt that wants to be financially free!

Content, content, content. Not a single original idea.
Very good example of how to fill up 200+ pages with content without a single original thought. Sneaky way to try and recruit you into the dozen or so MLM businesses author is involved in. Very disappointing to discover author is pastor of a church. No serious spiritual discussion about money. Left me wondering what really motivates author.

Praise God for this awesome resource, this book supersedes the average getting out of debt book because it emphasizes how to SUPERNATURALLY increase by accessing the provision in the kingdom of God, this has ignited my fire to get out of debt IMMEDIATELY once again! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

It's a great book with the foundational principles to fixing your finances. A lot of the suggestions for finding money more specifically apply to the USA alone but still worth reading and applying.

Great new perspective on breaking out of debt cycle. Style very conversational, friendly, easy to read. Doesn't beat you up and make you feel stupid like Dave Ramsey (IMO). Useful - implementing some of his strategies. Not a fan of recommendation to buy index annuities but to each their own.

I have read many books on finance and this book contains financial concepts that that remain hidden to most people. As each chapter unfolded I gain new perspectives on and was challenged to shift old paradigms to adopt a new model of understanding financial principles that ultimately bring financial freedom.
Gary presents a simplistic format takes complex concepts and make it easy to understand. I could not put it down, it is such a great read!! There is extensive usage of parables, biblical references and personal stories provide a sound foundation for his teaching. This book helps you to see scripture from a yet another angle where you learn to identify principles or laws that are the underlying factors that govern money and wealth creation. This book will renew hope, build faith and impart God’s wisdom on wealth and motivate you to put the principles into practice and take charge of your own finances!! I highly recommend this book, it is a definite must have for everyone looking for financial stability during a time of global economic instability.

Money is on everyone's mind many of us are living paycheck to paycheck. If only I had no debt then I could really live, but this is not true. We have to change our mindset and ask God to show us His way as Gary Keesee states in the book. We need to take our money along with our lives and give it all to God. Easier said than done, but with prayer and a true desire to change it can be done. This is what Fixing the Money Thing is about. How to get started and how with trusting God we can become debt free. We just have to stop and turn around and follow God's path. Great principles and easy steps to follow pick up the book trust me you will learn something. I got this book for free from Bookbub.com.

This book has given me so much insights with regards to my finances. After reading this book, I have learned that God has given me so much but I never took responsibility of the resources He has given me, thats why I am still in debtr. Now, after reading this book, I am now on the road to financial freedom because Pastor Gary has given me so much insights in to tap into God's infinite resources and use them properly to bless my family and also to bless other people. This is a great read and I recommend it to everyone. God bless...

Fantastic, practical and faith driven way to help you get out of debt and find more money. Gary Keesee is one of the few pastors that actually preaches pro business at least that I've found and I love these truths.
