It is always a pleasure to read a first time authors books. Elita's originality on the vampire subject interested me hugely. The virus idea was innovative and added a new twist our usual vampire ideals. That the humans have rein over the vampires was even more amazing, especially seeing they are in reality the weaker creatures.

Each vampire is allocated a Guardian that pretty much acts as a babysitter more than protector. Checking in on the vamps and making sure they are taking their

So much potential in this story but it fell short. At times character development seemed on point but would then the novel would jump around so much that it would leave the reader hanging for more answers. The end left off like a sequel must be planned but was rather weak and satisfying.

People (as a whole) tend to get comfortable when reading. We stick to the same genre’s we’ve always read, and depend on authors we are familiar with to entertain us. Hopping a fence into lands we’ve never experienced before can be uncomfortable, make us second guess ourselves, even make us retreat back into the hole in which we climbed out of, and I assure you, I am no different. While I would like to say “I read EVERYTHING” that’s not exactly the truth. There are (in fact) genres of literature ...more

If there were a "despise" option, this book would have it from me.

CONTENT WARNING: SEXUAL ASSAULT, ABUSE, MEDICAL ABUSE, TORTURE, MISOGYNY, MURDER, POISONING IN FORM OF MEDICATION, AND MORE

This book essentially is a book dedicated entirely to the description of the abuse of WOMEN vampires. Many people have mentioned that this book is about the second class citizenship of vampires as a whole, but the fact is that this is a book that brutally relies upon rape, sexual assault, abuse, tortur/>CONTENT

I was very lucky to receive a review copy of Guardian, a massive thank you to Elita Daniels for giving me that!

I gave this book three stars, not because I didn't enjoy reading it, but because I thought it was a bit too fast paced. Don't get me wrong, I like my books pretty fast paced because I usually get sucked into them and can't put them down! But this was a little too fast for my liking.
It also seemed a bit short for me as well, although this could just be because of the fa

Really good idea for a vampire story, dark but good. 2.5 Stars.

Anna was infected with the vampirism virus eight years ago by a one night stand. She spent two of those years in a "testing clinic", aka torture chamber, being experimented upon. Now she has learned she has also recently caught the carrier virus which means she can no longer bite or feed directly from anyone or she can turn them into a vampire. She has an angsty, damaged personalty which was magnified by the virus.

5 out of 5 Stars to author Elita Daniels and her novel “Guardian.”

Before I begin, I must say, I absolutely devoured this novel.

Within the very first chapter, Daniels brings us into a world where vampires exist and are treated as second-hand-citizens. The vampire life isn’t glamorous – they have cruel experiments performed on them, they are assigned humans (many of whom are cruel) as a sort of “parole officer” to monitor their every move, and they are forced to take meds tha

I was so excited when i was asked to review this book, gotta love the book covers! *winks*

I must say i really enjoyed reading this book, with all the vampire books out these days this one adds a new refreshing twist to life as a vampire. It gives us a view into what life would be like if Humans controlled the vampires.

Human's discovered this infection and once it became public each vampire was assigned a Guardian to watch over them by law.

We have Anna she was 24yrs old when she was fir

I really, really wanted to like this book. I love the premise. The cover is amazing. Paranormal romance is great. But this book just fell short. There were many, many missed opportunities to really give the reader an inside glimpse to what was happening in her head while still giving the action a go.

The whole idea of the Guardians and what they're really supposed to do was left up in the air a bit. What were the rules? What was their purpose? One guy is taking her home to take care of her and a

I got this as a Kindle Freebie and wow!

This was a very cool and interesting take on the idea of Vampires. In this story, Anna is "infected" with the vampire virus. It is seen as a sickness that needs to be cured and her guardian is there to help her. The storyline was very fast paced and reminded me at times of the Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton. It was a sexy, edgy vampire thriller. A quick and energetic read and not like a typical vampire story. The sex s

Elita has reinvented the vampire in this gripping story of a search for self and espionage. They are the result of a bio-weapon, of sorts, gone wrong. Alicorp, a government corporation gone amuk, doesn't even understand what they have unleashed on the world. Anna is a carrier vamp with a conscience. I was completely drawn into this world and the characters; I didn't want to put this book down. While Anna has finally found someone she feels she can trust, a plot line of espionage has developed th ...more

This isn't the greatest book in the world. It was a freebie from Amazon. It is about Anna a vampire and how she lives her life in the future when Vampirism spreads because of a virus that was generated in a lab. The vampires have human guardians to watch over what they are doing. Anna wants to be a regular person and desperately wants to avoid her blood thirst. The most interesting thing is the science behind vampirism but even that doesn't go into extraordinary details. Basically this book was ...more

Really, really enjoyed this! Highly original premise with richly developed characters and a strong female protagonist to root for. I loved Anna. I loved the new twist on vampires and how they have been integrated into society over the years. The author has clearly spent a great deal of time creating a deeply believable world where vampires and humans live along side each other. The writing style was amazing. Very taut and crisp, echoing the great hard boiled writers of the '40s such as Jim Thomp ...more

LOL She has such a crazy life and how so deals with things in that whatever meaner made it that much better. I am excited for book 2 to really get lots more from her and the 2 guys in her life. A short story about Vampires and Humans living together in the world. Anna, the main character has been in a research facility for years and now can live within society. The story takes you along for a bumpy ride on Anna's wants and needs. There's a lot of sex in the book and the story is short lived but it's an interesting intake on the vampires living within the humane society. It was a different read but I enjoyed the quick read.

Vampires and humans living together in peace. The night life belongs to the undead and Humans are attracted to this way of life. Not unlike released prisoners,Vampires are under observation by Guardians.Scientist are conduction experiments. Vampires living with prejudice.

Potential to be good. A bit too rushed. Would have made a better 300 page novel than a short story. The ending was so abrupt that I actually thought I didn't have the full download.

Elita Daniels was born in the early 1980's in North Queensland, and was raised (and still lives) in the historical gold city of Charters Towers. She started writing at age twenty-five, writing late at night when the house was quiet.

She aspires to move with her husband to a nice sized property located in a cooler climate, get a couple of dogs, and see "Tree of Life" made into a movie.
