Surrender

Rate this book
For over 250 years, the use of the tarot for divination has been a mainstay of mystical and occult practices. The themes and forces represented by the cards are said to govern our lives and our destinies. Whether you believe that or not, the story of the cards is nevertheless the story of our lives -- the accomplishments and the pitfalls, the path from soaring joy to crushing defeat and back again.

Aaron is a dominant soul stuck in an ivory Tower. His inexperience with the submissive side of the Scene prompts a fellow top named Travis to offer Aaron a chance to see what he's been missing. When Aaron agrees, the experience threatens to knock down Aaron's entire house of cards. And he's not entirely sure he minds.

About the author

K. Piet

K. Piet was born in California and raised in Flagstaff, Arizona, with her older sister and two cats. After studying in three different states and graduating magna cum laude from the University of Nevada – Las Vegas in Kinesiological Sciences, K. moved back to Flagstaff to pursue a career in therapeutic bodywork and massage. Her private massage business places an emphasis on sports massage for circus performers, dancers, and athletes training at high altitude.

Throughout high school and college, writing fiction was little more than a pleasant diversion from required essays and applied science courses. After working with author S.L. Armstrong on a number of small writing projects and coming to see the act of writing as a learned skill, K. found a new zeal for the challenge and now writes as a sideline career. She is particularly fond of writing in the High Fantasy and Paranormal genres, adding her own homoerotic, and often kinky, flair to her fiction.

K. was once locally published in Flagstaff for her poetry in high school and has been a featured artist for the convention group CirqueCon. 2010 was her debut year at Storm Moon Press, the small, independent, erotic-romance press she cofounded with S.L. Armstrong in order to self-publish their collaborative fiction.

K. also enjoys drawing, circus arts such as flying trapeze and aerial silks, musical theater, and hoopdancing, all of which she feels balance her scientific, kinesiological side with her passion for the artistic and dramatic. Her love of the human body and its endless possibilities bleeds into nearly every facet of her life, from massage, to writing, to staring at the attractive men at the local Renaissance Fair...

Just kidding on that last part. Really.

***********************

K. Piet often credits her humble introduction to the world of customer service and promotion to the menial jobs she has worked over the years. From the concessions stand at a movie theatre to helping real estate agents with their pop-by promotion and mailings, K. has always had an eye for mixing professionalism with enough fun to leave a positive impression. Extroverted and a self-proclaimed 'people person', she's always up for social interaction online and thrives in environments of face-to-face contact.

Balance is what K. strives for in her life and career. It comes as no surprise that she has chosen to pair the usually solitary profession of writing with the extroversion needed for promotion, marketing, and author relations. As one of the founders of Storm Moon Press, she is dedicated to promoting the press and its authors at every opportunity, a job she has happily done since SMP's inception in 2010. From booking blog tours to setting up reviews with both prominent and up-and-coming reviewers, you can be sure that K. is behind the scenes of Storm Moon Press, working to get the press and authors featured where potential readers can see.

K.'s writing can be found through www.stormmoonpress.com as well as her website, http://kpiet.net/. She often frequents Twitter (@k_piet) and can occasionally be seen giving her two cents on various Goodreads groups. If you see her at a convention, you'll likely remember her for carrying a handful of business cards and bookmarks practically wherever she goes, as well as her tendency of shamelessly dying her hair crazy colors.

Very good kinky m/m short about a Dom who finds himself very drawn to another Dom doing a public scene at a club party... and then finds his core assumptions about himself challenged. If you've ever been annoyed by a smug Dom story, you'll appreciate this chance to see a smug Dom shaken to his core. :)

I'm not sure that someone who has never submitted could find so much pleasure to try a toy and have a spanking. The perfect spot to be striked or stroked so the sub feels great? This spot does not exist except maybe in the mind of the sub. If the person is not a sub in his/her mind, we could hit him/her the left or right, up or down, that will not change anything, he/she will hate it. A Dom still needs to learn more about the sub to discover what is likely to make him/her feel good or bad. In this story, the two men did not know each other at all. They undertake a scene together, and even if Aaron has never bottomed and believes that he is a sub, a single spanking is enough to convince him to become Travis' sub. Not sure if this is so easy.
Anyway, I still found pleasure in reading this story.

This is a great short story about a man (Aaron) who has always been in the role of a Dom in his BDSM encounters. He takes advantage of an invitation to visit a club and ends up getting caught up in watching a public scene where he’s totally turned on by what’s happening to the sub in the scene and even more so by the other Dom. When he goes over to chat with the other Dom (Travis) after the scene, he more or less loses a bet that puts him on the receiving side of the other Dom’s attention. Let’s just say that Aaron didn’t expect to enjoy their brief interlude quite as much as he did and wonders if surrendering isn’t so bad after all! I loved the interaction between these two – they were very hot together. All I can ask is … more please? Loved it:)

A hot little d/s scene that shows a switch and the pleasures that can bring. Aaron previously thought himself a top and now he’s set to wonder.

I liked how the author set up from the very start that Aaron was looking for something else even though he wasn't aware of it. His initial distraction and uncertainty gave voice to it. Travis is so seductive and pretty near perfect as he carefully maps out with a studded leather spank glove what Aaron unknowingly wants and needs.

A nicely done prelude, it would be great to see where these two go. Will Aaron give up topping so easily?

Enjoyable short and a bit kinky story about a Aaron, a top (who has never bottomed) who is convinced by another dom to give one of his toys a try to help give him a better understanding of his own subs' experiences. The story is basically one scene where Aaron discovers a few thjngs about himself in the process. I would really like to see if Aaron has the courage to make the call and read more about his future experiences.

Subs and Doms. Complicated and yet so simple. Aaron is a Dom who discovers he's getting really turned on by watching a sub doing some public action. He loses a bet, and ends up on the receiving end of some very hot action. Hot sex here, plus a great look at the Dom shaken and stirred. Aaron isn't quite the man he thought and Piet gives us a fantastic look into the complex world of S&M. Travis and Aaron are wicked together, and the story just works on every level.

First order of business is to warn potential readers to completely ignore the blurb and the prologue of this short story ... they are clutter that add nothing to the story IMO.

This is a hot, smexy read with a Dom embrassing his submissive side ... I liked the dynamics of the couple and would love to read a longer story that explores the relationship further ... if you are looking for short, sweet and sexy, this is a story I'd recommend highly.

Excellent short story of a Dom reluctantly submitting to another Dom to experience what a sub would feel with a spanking using a studded glove. Lots of sexual tension and a joy to read.
