Easy to read and filled with quick to implement information. This book helps make sense of zones, planting times, fertilizer, etc. Not for anyone who wants an organic garden.

I can't think of this book without remembering the description of Jerry Baker abusing his trees by moonlight---apparently if you beat trees with a stick they grow better. The moonlight is just so hopefully the neighbors won't notice. This is a practical, approachable book that gives lots of good advice, and his light touch of humor weaves through and makes it all readable.

Informational gardening resource. Not for the truly impatient gardener, like myself. Many of his suggestions require multiple steps and ongoing plant care. I was hoping for more organic pest control alternatives but overall, a good resource. Now I know when and how to replant the lawn, although I'm still killing the new globe willow tree after reading Baker's advice.

Jerry Baker is well known for this garden advice and "Grandma Putt's Tonics." He is referred to as American's Master Gardener... a title well deserved. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys gardening.
