THE MISMATCH

A more incompatible couple than Lord Jeremy Barnett and Miss Emmaline Delwyn could not be found in the realm.

Jeremy was the most scandalously successful rake in London. His escapades were infamous, his conquests legion, and his conscience totally lacking.

Emmaline was a well brought up young lady who had devoted herself to caring for her infirm father far from s

A Regency featuring 3 romances (1 'off-stage.')

The main couple Jeremy & Emmaline argued way too
often. Both made cutting comments. They both needed
to calm down, listen, and observe body language. The
MC agreed to a faux engagement, while each sought a
potential mate for the other. Emma's Da had a stroke &

started off interesting, but then mixed in too many subplots, also annoying that the heroine, instead of talking issues over, decides its in her best interest to remain silent, mad, unforgiving and unreasonable. also the last two filler pages of their wedding night seemed out of place. Loved this one! Emmaline is a devoted daughter, who has long been in love with the neighbor's son. Lord Jeremy, a profligate rake, has some redeeming qualities, like helping the poor. His father forces him to marry...and he is forced to marry her. She declines, he declines, they make a fake match of it, but are hopelessly in love with each other. It's a silly situation, but a cute story.

The story of Jeremy and Emmaline had a good plot and had the potential for some great banter and humor but did not live up to my expectations. The few descriptive sexual scenes took away from what could have been a sweet romance.
