A bit of carefree romance - perfect for a light afternoon read.

The story was cute, but Ethan's outburst at the beginning of the book was more than a little overblown... I audibly scoffed...

I will say, however, that this book has an awesome prologue...
Short, sweet, and straight to the point:
“BRITTANY ASTOR wanted three things:
She wanted to be beautiful.
She wanted Ethan Moss.
She wanted a cat.
The cat was a possibility.”

Britt loved Ethan from afar for most of her life, but she was always the brain, the quiet one. Her sister is a jet-setting model, and everyone notices Francesca- no one notices Britt standing in her shadow.

But Ethan's life takes a nasty turn when an accident leaves him blind. Unsure if it's temporary or not, he refuses to allow the doubt to linger, and instead hires someone to read to him. As an editor, and a lover of books, Britt is the perfect voice for the job.

But a bad decision when she was younger may keep their love from lasting. Will the playboy settle down with the quiet editor, or will her dreams vanish when his sight returns?

A really good story, a typical romance with some light erotic content. I recommend this to all romantics.

(Explícito). Historia de amor clásica. Muy recomendable como una lectura de relajación, lo tiene de todo. Incluso un pequeño misterio que al final se resolverá. Si lo volvería a leer. Final feliz.

Kinda obvious romance novel. Tropey as you like, but pretty endearing. I've reread this so many times that it's become a comfort read.

Wonderful read.

This was a wonderful read from a new to me author. I enjoyed the interactions between Brittany and Ethan. The long standing love of Brittany for Ethan was sweet and endearing.

Contemporary hidden rich playboy who is temporarily blind finds love with a book editor that needs to make extra money for a little purebred cat because she only wants three things in life, a poney, her childhood obsession Ethan Moss and a cat. So she goes for what is the most possible; the cat.
This was a cute story with light erotica stories embedded in this story which was original and a sweet way to romance the two main characters when one is blind and the author can't do the usual seduction techniques of gestures and flirty dialogue.
Brittany Astor is a one man, woman. Britt only has eyes for the selfish one-night-stand party playboy Ethan Moss. She is in his social circle, but because of her shyness, she hasn't had much more contact then one dance during her debutante coming out ball. But a series of events, which include that Ethan is temporarily blinded in a polo match which brings them together so that Britt reads to Ethan every evening. They slowly become friends then more when she doesn't coddle his blindness, but makes him push his boundaries and try ti accept and live with this new handicap.
There is a big secret that I never saw coming which ruins their budding relationship, but love is love so HEA does happen, but after a little breathing time. The flighty sister was hilarious!
Can you tell, that I enjoyed this little freebie?! Well, I did and it was a quick sweet read to put me to sleep last night. If you like first loves and sweet seduction then you'll like this one.

I'm thankful I got this book for free, even if it were 0.99 cents I'd still be okay with that, anything more I'll be greatly disappointed.

The story was just an okay read however, the chemistry between the two is tenuous, almost none existent. The dialogue is a sleeper, it felt like I was reading a teenager's book report. There's too many pages of "supposedly fantasy" scene being read off from a book by Brittany to Ethan. This was how the apparent seduction was done between Ethan and Brittany, Ho hum, *: ~

When finally Ethan and Brittany made it to bed, the scene was like a boy and girl playing house and doctor learning about the birds and the bees. I tried, I really, really tried to keep an open mind and tried to like it but it didn't do it for me. I think I could have been playing Candy Crush saga while reading this at the same time and not miss a single thing. Even the fantasy Ethan and Brittany tried to create around the desk and a scenario between a naughty student and a dean was a complete dud.

I honestly do not enjoy writing a negative review, I somehow feel embarrassed doing so. It's as if I was invited to dinner, came and ate then went around badmouthing the food and the host. So I apologize Ms. Tiffany White, I truly hope you can understand and forgive me, but try as I might, I was truly bored beyond redemption.

This was one of those "it was ok" kind of books. It could have easily been finished in a day, but I found myself constantly putting it down to move on to something else and having to come back to it. The characters were flawed which was a plus, but there was something about the overall novel that made it hard for me to stay interested. Maybe it had something to do with all the secrets between them, or Brittany's stalkerish scrapbooks on Ethan's life, or perhaps it was the "erotic literature" scenes between them (when Brittnay is reading to Ethan), that I felt took away from the overall story rather than add to it. Whatever the problem or shortcomings, I was able to finish this novel, and I definitely think there are some people would there to whom this book would have a greater appeal. It just wasn't for me.

I had high hopes for this book after seeing the cover and reading the synopsis, however it wound up falling short of my expectations. It started off well and was quite engaging at first, but then kind of lost it's steam after the two main characters, Ethan and Brittany, hooked up the first time. And their subsequent brief fallout after she revealed something to him about the past and the events that happened after she told him just felt rushed and not quite right...and it didn't flow well by that point either. It's like the author came out of the gate with a winner, but then fizzled out on the execution later on in the story.

So, overall it is an okay way to pass the time but nothing to rocks your socks off.

I was intrigued by this one so had to download it. Without realising it Brittany takes a job reading to her lifelong crush. He's temporarily blinded and not the nicest of people to be around right now.

The book tries to be sympathetic to the handling of the blind character, but it's predictable over how it's going to end.

Nevertheless I found it an enjoyable read that seemed to tie up all the loose ends nicely.

There are a couple of interesting passages where Brittany and Ethan tell each other erotic stories, but the sex doesn't get in the way of the story. It's more of a good old fashioned romance.

Pretty good romance - I liked the premise and the interaction between Ethan and Brittany. Ethan has lost his sight in a riding accident and hires Brittany. Brittany has had a crush on Ethan since she was a young girl and can hardly believe her luck when she finds out the job that she's applied for is reading for the man of her dreams. There is a sweet romance and a few steamy bits. There are no surprises here - and yes, as some have said, this does end rather abruptly. But overall it was a fun, mindless read.

An okay read, I thought the idea was great but some better erotica stories involved. I'd like to see the guy sweat, lol. I didn't like the rushed ending, it didn't indicate what he did to get over what she had done, and I thought that what she had done was a terrible twist. Why on earth would she even be honest about that? Was she worried he may find out? There really wasn't anything leading up to that. So I would personally rewrite this. This has the ability to be a fresh idea and a really great read.

I liked this short novella. It was a really cute premise, the writing was witty, and I really liked the hero and heroine. Brittany had admired Ethan forever, they were both from higher New York society, but he was older than her. After he is blinded by an accident he wants someone to read to him, she decides to answer the add so she can buy a cat.

I liked how they got together and she learned that she was beautiful when he couldn't see her. She was able to come out of her shell.

Cute story, I will look for more from the author.

What I really love about this book is that it didn't rely on sex scenes like most Harlequin novels, to make it enjoyable or interesting, it was amazing with out it. That alone makes me love and respect Tiffany White as a writer, and it makes me want to read more of her books.
If you're sick of reading the same thing over and over like me, then I would highly recommend you read this book. At the time I found this book, I knew I didn't want to start another series, so that was a huge plus for me.

This was one of those I need to kill an evening kind of books and for that purpose it did just fine. As an overall read I would lean more toward the “eh, okay” mark but as I did finish reading it, it couldn’t have been all bad.

I found the plot of Kiss in the Dark to be a stretch, the characters to be iffy and the writing itself to be lackluster. The one different thing it had going for it, a blind protagonist, was offset by refusing to face that challenge in anything but a superficial way. All-in-all this one was a bit of a bust for me.

I really enjoyed this quick read.

Brittany spots a job to read someone in the wanted ads, needing extra money to buy a cat she applies on a whim. The client turns out to be a handsome polo player who has lost his sight following an accident. Grouchy and fed up with life Ethan isn't the most pleasant employer but slowly they become reluctant friends. A big secret looms between them - will they be able to overcome all the obstacles in their way to move from friends to more.

A good story, different from the start and a good easy read,

This was an okay story. I didn't love it but I didn't hate it or feel like I wasted my time reading it. I did feel it was a bit like stepping back in time though. The story was either written a long time ago or just based in the 90's because it seemed like it was stuck in a bit of a time warp. Also, the dialogue was very proper. For some reason, I kept hearing the words in an old Victorian accent rather than modern day (or 90's) America.

Sleepless girl

This book captured my attention from the start. It was creatively written and it expressed how obstacles and life changing events are important and necessary because the lead us to the life we are ment to live and help us become the strong people we are.
The reason I give this book only two stars it because though it was meaningful and humorous I was not at all prepared for the erotic qualities.
I do not suggest this book to anyone under the age of twenty.

2.5 stars. While I liked these characters, the storytelling was off. Brittany came off like a psycho unstable stalker and Ethan was just too good to be true. And his was just so sudden and no one even made any fuss about it. Just too cheesy and unrealistic the whole way through.

The best part of the whole book? Brittany's relationship with her sister Francesca. Those two together were amazing.

This was a good read, well written, although it felt a bit dated. I liked the setting (New York) and how the story evokes another historical time when referring to "The Age of Innocence". I couldn't get interested in the stories inside the story.

I enjoyed the story very much. The lead up was well written and not rushed. The ending on the other hand.... I could have used a little more anger and drama from Ethan. It felt like it wrapped up too quickly and neatly.

Enjoyed this book very much. I just wish it'd have been longer so that a little more digging could've been done into the characters relationships. Enjoyed the writing style though and would read more by this author.

A quick distraction from reality, it was short, sweet and predictable. It took longer to get to the romance than I expected but was still enjoyable.
