although this is an introductory text book, it is written at a much more detailed, sophisticated level than most other introductory textbooks. admittedly, i didn't read the whole thing, as only part of it is really relevant for my research. however, what i read was really well done. lots of citations, so you can track down the original material easily. comprehensive reviews of theoretical developments. great book.
