Somehow, I had never even heard of this book by one of my favorite picture book duos and then today I found a copy at the Santa Fe public library sale (for a quarter!). I loved the verse throughout and the theme of the book (visiting a variety of characters that all live in the same village) and the Blake illustrations are some of the finest I've ever seen. I look forward to revisiting this book over and over in the years to come.

I love the characters brought to life by Quentin Blake's fantastical illustrations.

It's a cosy, beautiful, rhyming stroll and introduction to Our Village. As someone inspired by childhood experiences in a village, I appreciate and find the audiobook inspiring.
