This book reminds me of that tone. The plot is so very important to the safe-keeping of the world. Piper is full of surprises. I really loved the element of mystery in the book that kept me guessing but managed not to be crazy complicated. That's a really fine line that Rachel totally succeeds at. She can also describe the living hell out of something. Love that she doesn't ever overdo it, but many times I sighed at the way she strung the words together. I'm such a fan of an exquisitely worded sentence, and I highlighted quite a few in this book.
