El hombre ideal
¿Qué sucede cuando el hombre con el que sueñas se convierte en el hombre que tienes a tu lado en la cama? Después de sus experiencias con su ex novio Rob el Vago, Ella Holt está lista para abandonar toda esperanza de encontrar al hombre adecuado. De modo que cuando contesta un cuestionario de 50 preguntas de una revista acerca de su hombre perfecto, no tiene ni idea de que sus respuestas serán utilizadas por una nueva agencia de citas para encontrarle la pareja perfecta. Naturalmente, Ella se burla de la sola idea de la existencia del «hombre perfecto», pero cuando el hombre de la agencia Perfect, James Master, se presenta en la puerta de su casa, parece que por fin sus expectativas se cumplen. No sólo es guapo como para caerse de espaldas, sino que en su rutina diaria comienza a formar parte viajes espontáneos a París, declaraciones de amor, gestos románticos (y sexo para gourmets). Sin embargo, cuando la «fatiga romántica» surge, las sospechas de Ella acerca de las consecuencias de sus respuestas empiezan a amontonarse. Y cuando Rob empieza a cambiar su detestable conducta para recuperarla, Ella recuerda que pidió un hombre que hiciera cualquier cosa con tal de conservarla… y que destruyera todo aquello que se interpusiera en su camino.

El hombre ideal Es uno de esos libros que te encuentras en un sale en las librerías, es una historia bastante basica y fácil de leer, que si bien puedes terminarla en un dia a mi me llevo su tiempo terminarla y es que hay varias cosas que de verdad a mi no me convencieron para nada, lo termine de leer por que quería saber el final de la historia pero realmente no tenia otra motivación.
La Historia: Nunca me convenció el tema de ... una agencia para encontrar a tu hombre ideal, es en serio llenar un cuestionario y hacer pruebas para encontrar a esa persona con la que vas a casarte. Se que es ficciones pero vamos eso me parece totalmente ridiculo, Ella el personaje femenino me parecía totalmente inmaduro y para nada interesante. Creo que al leer esto bajo considerablemente el punteo, primero por que me pareció soso y tonto y por que no me pareció una ida original.
Ella Holt el personaje principal me pareció demasiado soso, nada maduro y al contrario me pareció un personaje aburrido, todo predecible y para nada interesante, creo que peco demasiado de ingenua y nada realista creer que alguien puede encontrar a su persona ideal con llenar un cuestionario, y eso con el simple hecho de la manera en como trataba a su ex novio, que paso a ser su exnovio por que no cumplía con sus expectativas tremendamente altas y surrealistas. Me aburrió y no puedo decir nada mas sobre ella.
La historia es algo aburrida en ciertas partes aunque hay que darle a la autora puntos por que los capítulos eran cortos cosa que agradezco. es predecible y la verdad es que no tiene nada de emoción, los personajes son poco desarrollados y para nada entretenidos.
Mi Calificación dos estrellas ** Lo termine de leer por que no me gusta dejar las historia inconclusas, pero tampoco lo recomendaría no es un libro que no te debes perder, si lo encuentras por ahi léelo pero no vayas con muchas expectativas. Lo unico bueno que. te deja el libro es el consejo de que las personas pueden ser las mas perfectas en papel pero en la vida real en donde de verdad importa pueden ser totalmente diferentes a lo que de verdad consideramos perfecto, a como yo lo veo, las relaciones personales se forman conociendo de verdad a la persona, cambiar y mejorar cada defecto que tenemos por esa persona, crecer juntos. No como una lista de ingredientes para un pastel perfecto, no pedimos y lo tenemos ya, como queremos.

me reí...me reí..me reí...muchísimo..un libro muy divertido fácil de leer, sin tanto drama, aunque en algunos momentos me quedaba..es decir...siento que algunas descripciones iban muy rápido y me devolvía a releer. Me hubiese gustado que profundizaran mas en la relación de Ella y Rob... un epilogo por lo menos...en cuanto a James..bueno, su personaje me hizo cuestionar la noción que tengo del hombre ideal!!

No esperaba encontrar un mensaje tan lindo en este libro. Dejando de lado el hecho que la situación de la protagonista es un tanto irracional, puedo decir que me encantó la trama, los personajes, el mensaje y el sentido del humor con que se narra la historia. Genial, merece la pena leerlo.
Aunque cada vez que leo un Chick-Lit me queda más claro que los mejores libros de ese género los escribe Sophie Kinsella <3

Cuándo leo este tipo de libros no espero gran cosa, simplemente evadirme con algo fácil y reirme un rato. Aún así la historia de este libro me ha parecido demasiado trillada, demasiado predecible y tampoco me ha hecho especial gracia. De todas formas creo que cambiando el final me habría gustado un poco más, el final es demasiado....patético.

Un libro muy ágil y divertido, demasiado. La protagonista tiene salidas ocurrentes y muchas veces he acabado en carcajadas. Una lectura rápida y con una trama interesante. Perfecto para verano. Recomiendo la canción *Empire state of mind* de Alicia Keys para escucharla mientras lees, es mágica la experiencia.

Me pareció hasta cierto punto cuestionable, aunque fácil de leer.
Es mi segunda lectura a este libro. La primera vez era una adolescente, así que tenía curiosidad de cómo lo iba a percibir de adulta.

Having first discovered - and very much loved - Andrea Semple's novels back in 2004, I was excited that publishers Piatkus were re-releasing the novels this year with fantastic new covers (seriously, they're awesome). So after rediscovering much-loved book The Man From Perfect, I decided to review it for those who have yet to read.
When teacher Ella Holt finally ditches lazy, inattentive boyfriend, not so affectionately nicknamed Rob the Slob, her crazy friend and housemate Maddie tries desperately to get Ella back in the dating game. When a speed-dating event turns out to be a disaster (for Ella, anyway…), she’s about to give up. That is, until she’s sent a mysterious letter from The Perfect Agency, claiming to provide Ella with the prize of a lifetime - the man of her dreams.
It seems rather far-fetched, until Maddie reveals that she posted a love questionnaire that Ella completed some time ago – a questionnaire that was in fact a competition entry. Being Perfect’s prize winner, Ella is entitled to attend the agency for testing – testing that will lead her to her scientific love match – a real-life Mr Perfect.
The Perfect Agency is adamant that their latest project will revolutionize dating. After all, it’s science. So how can Ella refuse?
Soon she’s acquainted with James Masters, who seems far too good to be real. A handsome, romantic airline pilot, James possesses the qualities that boring Rob the Slob could never match up to. James is seemingly everything she could ever want in a boyfriend, and he’s already whisking her away on holidays, meeting her friends and being the partner every girl can dream of. It doesn’t help that the pair are turning out to be the Perfect Agency’s PR guinea-pigs, but it’s a small price to pay for happy coupledom.
However, when things are too good to be true, they usually aren’t…and Ella’s soon having doubts about the wonderful man who’s walked into her life. A man that’s slowly turning out to be not so perfect after all…
Andrea Semple was one of the first authors I read when I started getting into chick-lit. and I’ve been hoping for some time that she would write more, but at least I can now own the lovely new editions! I really liked Ella – and of course, her crazy housemate and their hilarious speed-dating experience. The only complaint about The Man From Perfect is that it’s over too soon – like previous novels The Make-Up Girl and The Ex-Factor, the short chapters and fast-paced writing mean that ‘just one more chapter!’ ends up with finishing the whole book. But other than that? It’s a great read, and if you like light, romantic comedies (Sophie Kinsella, Tracy Bloom) then The Man From Perfect is very much recommended.

The Man from Perfect is a 2005 romantic fiction novel written by author, Andrea Semple. The story centres around Ella Holt. She's a teacher and, as the first few pages tell you, Ella is breaking up with Rob. Rob is a slob, as Andrea Sample so eloquently states with the title of the first chapter. The story follows Ella winning a contest held by a dating company to locate the ideal man for her, the perfect man.

After Ella wins this contest she is subjected to a series of unique and interesting tests and questions asked by The Perfect Agency so that they may pair her with her new love, her new perfect man. The Perfect Agency appears to make the perfect match with James Masters. He's a charming and attractive airline pilot and for some crazy reason this PERFECT man is absolutely smitten by Ella.
The novel has a very predictable story line. It's structured well and you know straight away that this perfect man isn't exactly what he appears; you get the feeling like.....no one is this perfect.
One key example of Mr Masters' strange and not so perfect behavior is that he never answers his mobile phone around Ella - which any woman would find unusual. Andrea also gives hints to a violent temper. The story works its way through the perfect relationship with James, regardless of Ella's doubts, but as she gets engaged to this 'perfect' man, Rob the Slob comes back on the scene, and he doesn't like the engagement. The story is typical and predictable as you see that Rob begins to change his slob ways for Ella.
I won't spoil the ending but I'm sure you can see where it goes. Overall the story is cute. I probably wouldn't read it again, not for a while anyway, but it's definitely nice and easy. The story is your typical romance and while the plot is very predictable you still want to keep reading. The Man from Perfect is the perfect light read for anyone who is a fan of love and romance novels. I'd suggest this book as the type of novel to read on the bus or even on a plane flight. It's fluid, easy and enjoyable.

I actually quite liked this book, you know more or less exactly where the plot is going to go and how it's getting there but I couldn't actually resent it for this. It was funny, cheeky and different enough to be above average chick-lit. Nice sweet ending without too much smultz.
It read as a well thoughout, it seemed obvious the author knew exactly where she wanted to go with it and didn't allow herself to deviate from it at all. It was nice and tight and everything in there was needed for the storyline.
I have to say the names of the charecters are awful though!

Divertida novela sobre la idea de que es mejor lo malo conocido que lo bueno por conocer. El nombre del ex novio lo dice todo: Rob El Vago. Pero el Hombre Ideal es demasiado perfecto. Es una historia simpática sobre la imperfección humana, las segundas oportunidades y el amor.

Típica novela que las grandes super producciones de Hollywood convierten en película, con tramas que sólo hacen decirnos cosas que ya sabemos de forma original, pero igualmente muy muy muy divertida

Sweet lighthearted "chick lit" book, enjoyable read.
