Another super darling romance by Marie Higgins. A beautiful, heartbroken ghost and a reformed bad boy attorney. Abby needs Nick's investigator skills to help her uncover who killed her back in 1912. Yep, there's time travel. Yep there's a mystery. Yep, there's a murder and thank goodness there's a sweet romance! Fun characters that learn to trust in each other and hope that somehow, sometime they can have a life (or death?) together. Squeaky clean, fun adventure in both the present and the past. ...more

Lots and lots of romance sets this sweet, clean romance on the top of my favorites list. While the idea of falling in love with a ghost isn't new, how she sets the scenes, clues, and unusual twists will delight the sleuth in you. The plot twisted in ways I didn't expect. And while the ending was a surprise, Higgins creates a character whose choice is clear. After I closed the book, I thought to myself, "I would love to see another book with these characters."

Nick is a lawyer who has had his share of problems in the past, when he moves his office into a new building he feels like he can make a fresh start. Abigail is a ghost from 1912 looking for a solicitor to help solve her murder. I loved the twist and turns in this book!!

This is a fun little romantic mystery that pulls you in from the start and it definitely would get 3.5 stars from me. Our main character, Nick, is trying to start over in both his personal life and his professional life. He is confronted by a woman from the early 1900s who says she was murdered and needs him to help solve her murder so she can cross-over. It is an interesting premise that kept me turning pages as they both follow leads to find out what happened to her and her father’s money.

A clever plot. Wanted some more details on how the "science" of the time traveling took place, and also less gushing dialog between the main characters. But overall, a fun read.

Hearts Through Time
In Marie Higgins’ ghost story, Hearts Through Time, beautiful Abigail Carlisle finally finds the man she’s been searching for all her death. She doesn't want him for his looks, his flashy car, or his law degree. He’s just the right man, in the right building, with the right initials. Before she died her grandmother told her she’d find a solicitor with the initials N.M. who would help her.

Nick Marshal is renovating his career when he meets the ethereal Abigail, garbed in elegan

Tears gathered in her eyes, so she blinked them away. “Believe it, Mr. Marshal. I am a ghost”.

Abigail Carlisle, a beautiful and charming young woman claims to be a ghost from 1912 who was murdered, doesn’t know who did it and wants to enlist Nick Marshal’s help to solve the crime so she can pass over into the next life and stop haunting her father’s old newspaper office.

GREAT BOOK!! First of all, I must say that it is slightly outside of my typical genre. I read alot of science fiction and fantasy, so when I started reading Hearts Through Time, I was concerned that it was a romance novel with a little bit of sci fi thrown in as a plot device. I was concerned it would not hold my attention because of this.

I must say I was very happily surprised to find that it is a great read- and I cannot put it down! Last night, I found myself at 1:00 a.m., reading by flashli

If you like time travel like I do with a beautiful female ghost from the past trying to solve her murderfrom 100 years ago, you'll love this romantic, suspense tale.
Nick Marshall, upon seeing Abigail Carlisle out of nowhere in his office, he has thoughts of being crazy, but when Abby does things to prove she is a ghost from 1912, he comes to believe her. Abby has been stuck in his office building ever since her murder, but when she begins spending more time wi

When I first read the blurb about the book, I wondered how a love story between a ghost and a living man could possibly be romantic when there was little hope that they could fulfill their longings to share their love and affection in time with both embodied. As a girl, I loved the romantic series "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir." I absolutely longed to see them be able to hold each other. Knowing they never could was extremely frustrating, so when I read the summary of "Hearts Through Time," I wasn't ...more

My favorite genre is "time travel" and this novel didn't disappoint. It is the story of a twentieth century lawyer, Nick Marshall, who meets the love of his life -- but she's a ghost. She was told by her grandmother in 1912 that she would meet a man with the initials "N.M." who would help her. Nick investigates her case in the twentieth century and as he is doing so, he falls in love with her. After he returns a vital piece of evidence to her, she disappears and he travels back to 1912. Dang!! That was a good story. Very intriguing right up to the end. I loved it!
Nick is an attorney and a ghost asks for his help solving her murder. He is taken back in time to 1912, just two weeks before her murder. He has to find her, get her to trust him, discover who her murderer is, and stop the murder. Good luck! He is from the 21st century. Nothing is as it should be...he has no home, no money, no allies, and too much to accomplish. However, he fell in love with Abigail as a ghost, and he

I've read other books by this author that I quite liked so I thought I'd give this one a try. The plot was unique and different. I don't normally read paranormal romance/mysteries, but this one was kinda fun if you can step into that world and suspend your disbelief and logic. The book starts out with a lawyer who has had some rough times and is trying to start over. As he enters his brand new office, he notices a woman dressed in clothes from 1910 who asks him to help her ...solve her murder! N ...more

Enchanting time travel!
If you love time travel romances, then WAITING FOR YOU, written by Marie Higgins, will be perfect for you. I am a huge fan a time travel, so when I saw Ms. Higgins's story, I knew I had to read it; well I'm so glad that I did, it got me captivated so much that I couldn't put it down! Some scenes are so cute and fun to follow! I loved her two characters Abigail Carlisle, a mysterious and beautiful woman, who claimed to be a ghost from 1912 and Nick Marshal, a handsome lawye

Loved it! Why did it have to end?! There are so many things I love about this book, but one of the best things is you don't have to wait until the last 3 pages of the novel to finally get a kiss! I love that there was no dancing around in this book, no stupid communication problems (which is often the conflict between the hero and heroine) just two people who fall in love! And the story and mystery was great! There were a lot of people to keep track of, I think that's part of the reason the kill ...more

What do you get when you take a high-profile lawyer and an attractive ghost who has been waiting for just the right 'solicitor' to come along for almost a hundred years? You get a romantic encounter filled with suspense and intrigue! Marie Higgins' Hearts Through Time follows the story of Abigail Carlise as she convinces Nick Marshall that indeed, she is a ghost, that she was murdered in 1912, and that she desperately needs him to help her solve her untimely death. Neither one of them expected t ...more

I got hooked on time travel novels when I read Nancy Campbell Allen's, Love Beyond Time several years ago, so when I saw Hearts Through Time by Marie Higgins in the 2011 Spring Books & Things Catalog, I put it on my list to read and wasn't disappointed. It's an enjoyable Romance with a little Mystery - definitely more romance than mystery. I enjoyed Marie's characters - Nick, the reformed playboy lawyer and Abigail, the 1912 socially proper heiress ghost. For all Somewhere in Time movie love ...more

I loved this book! The romance was beautiful. The chemistry between Nick and Abbie was great. I loved all the twists and turns the plot took. This was contemporary meets historical fiction. I love both genres so it was right up my alley.

The story was told from both characters' perspectives which is always fun. I enjoyed learning both of their thoughts through this way of story telling. The author took me on a wonderful journey of a love story that was worth fighting for.

It is a quick read with a cute plot, but there were a lot of grammatical errors, which irritated me. I did read it on Kindle though, so it might have been an error through the electronic form. It took me a while to figure out this was the same author as Winning Mr. Wrong, but we finally got there in the end. ;0) One thing that bothered me the most was that the "hero" is suppose to be this brilliant detective/attorney and yet it took him till the end of the book to figure out who the villain was, ...more

I really enjoyed this book. That is big to say in my book because I'm not a travel in time type person or mystery kinda person. I usually have it figured out. Having said that I did have it figured out however the journey was fun and the love story was believble and I really enjoyed this read. It would be fun to read again even and especially having read it so see the extra stuff not seen the first time.

Waiting for You was a fun light hearted time travel romance book. This is exactly the type of book that I want to read before going to sleep. It was interesting enough to keep me enganged, but not complicated so that I was able to read it in small doses.

There is quite a lot of suspension of disbelief required to enjoy this book - so I wouldn't recomend reading it if you have trouble with that.

I decided to give the author another try and read Hearts Through Time because I love time travel books. I thought this one was slightly better then the other I read but the ending was just a little toooooo unfinished in my opinion. There were too many unresolved questions in the book that needed to be tied up if there was going to be an ending like that. I don't think I will invest my time in her other books, however, I am sure other readers will love them, just not me.

Interesting story by Higgins. I was captivated by it, even though I had no idea how the whole ghost/romance was going to work. A cute story.

Moral Note: Some mild talk about past affairs, unfaithfulness in marriage. Nothing graphic. Kissing, no language. I didn't like how Abby was supposed to be prim and proper and the next minute she was in his arms...
New Review: I don't know anymore. It is just too juvenile for me now. I don't think I need to read it again in my life, but I will be recommending it to my nieces when they get a bit older.

Original Review (2013) great! The only thing that I found annoying is that Nick winks...a lot.

Ok, most people who know me know that I really don't like time travel books! This book was more about the murder mystery and the romance and I didn't mind when he ended up going back in time. It was nice to read a fun, clean mystery/romance.

This is a good mix of ghost story, time-travel, love, mystery. Really don't quite know where it belongs. There were a few parts I found implausible, but when you just roll along with the story, it all works just fine.

3.5 stars. This book had a little of everything -- a ghost, a mystery, a romance, and some time travel. I wish there had been a bit more explanation about the ending (maybe an epilogue or something). Overall an enjoyable read.
