Inter-Act: Interpersonal Communication Concepts, Skills, and ContextsIncludes ^IInter-Action!^R CD

Rate this book
Designed to help students understand communication processes in relationships and develop specific skills needed to create and maintain healthy ones, the eleventh edition retains the features that have made this book so a theory driven skills-based focus, an accessible tone and
presentation, and numerous useful pedagogical tools. Cynthia Berryman-Fink, a new coauthor, brings fresh insights to this edition, which has a contemporary feel that will resonate with today's students and professors.
Well-written and lively, Inter-Act features numerous activities that enable students to relate their everyday experiences to their studies in communication. The text illustrates how cultural, racial, and gender differences as well as electronically mediated messages alter what we should do to
communicate effectively. It also emphasizes the importance of ethics in communication and encourages students to develop their analytical abilities as they think critically about the concepts presented in the text.

I read this for class instead of enjoying my life with sunrise on the reaping or red rising.

Required class textbook which, for me, seemed mostly unnecessary. It feels like a guidebook for corporate aliens who need to study how to interact with the human species, and learn their mysterious, complex ways and fit in.

I really loved this textbook. It is very easy to follow along with and most of the time you find parts of your relationships through the concepts the textbook covers. I found every chapter to be very relevant in improving one's communication. This is honestly one of the most interesting and compelling textbooks I have ever read. With all of the personal examples throughout the book, you will just find yourself laughing when you realize that exact thing has happened to you before!
