Al and Patti Bedford are the new parents of twins, which means they are severely sleep deprived, in debt to their ears, and feeling very stressed out. Like so many other young couples, Al and Patti have gotten in over their heads financially while pursuing the great American Dream and the good life. With the arrival of their twins and all the new responsibility that entails, the cracks that have been below the surface in their marriage start to come to light. Was this what they signed up for when they got married? Neither one of them is sure. Sweet Dreams Drive is a heartwarming story about learning and remembering what really matters in life--family, faith, and love.

3.75 stars Sweet story...but in some ways it raises more questions about the author's view of marriage. Did the couple's mistakes toward each other really compute to the same thing? Both had fallen into a bad attitude, but it seemed to me that Al had just as much of responsibility for Patti's issues by not making sure there was a home budget in place. After all, if he's so much the head of the household, he's also responsible for making sure he's got a handle on where the money is going. Both of them should have sat down and TALKED about their financials the first instant that he finds out Patti has an issue. He shouldn't leave her in a place where she's afraid to talk to him about anything money-related.
Sweet Dreams Drive by Robin Lee Hatcher is a powerful tale about becoming parents to twins. It is book four in the Harts Crossing series but can be read as a stand-alone. The reader witnesses the strain of tiredness and finances on a marriage. Being a new mum should be a time of happiness but tiredness can overwhelm. We see the importance of being honest with each other. We also see the importance of making time for each other as a couple. We need to see our partners as God sees them. Life is not about having the biggest house or the most money. Life is about focusing on God and others. We need to be content with what we have and not play the comparison game or try to buy the next best thing. If we chase things, we will never be satisfied. Our happiness will Always be in a ‘who’ and never a ‘what’. It is important to make time for God. We do not want our relationship with Him to diminish. We need to put good daily habits into our lives of prayer and bible reading. We need to start the day with God. This was another delightful offering from Robin Lee Hatcher. You can buy it alone or as part of the Here In Harts Crossing collection.
A very short conclusion to Hatcher's Hart's Crossing (small town series). Al and Patti Sinclair have married, bought a large home, and had twins in a short period of time. Now they are having financial difficulties which lead to arguments. Will their faith help bring them back together as they work out a new life that seems overwhelming?
This is the final book in the Hart's Crossing series. This one is less of a romance than the others. Again, sweet, but too short to have much depth. Struggles are way too easily resolved.
Short, easy read about a young couple having financial difficulties. The husband is a 6th grade teacher. His wife is a homemaker who gave birth to twins. They struggle to live on one income.
The mother of twin infants is in conflict with her husband over money, lack of sleep has to simplify her tastes and appreciate what she has and what they love about each other. Why does it seem all the blame ends up on her -where is he in this? Doesn't he bear some responsibility for their relationship too?
This is another good book by this author. It's about Tyson Applegate, son of a wealthy, mine owner, taking off for years shortly after his marriage to Diana. He leaves to get away from his controlling father. Diana receives word that Tyson died in the Cuban war. He returns and wants Diana to maintain his home. Has he changed???
3.5 stars Sweet story and relatable. Young couple dealing with being new parents and the changes that brings to a relationship. I like how they turned to God for help and both made an effort to get back on track.
I liked how this one started out, but the end was a big disappointment. Gee, maybe if every woman give in to what her man wants the world would be all rosy? Not.
Loved the Hart's Crossing series!! Just thought this book did not have the same focus & effort as the last three. You could tell the author was wrapping up the series.
