Rate this book
"He's Brandon Slade, for God's sake, and you're just you."

He was a famous writer, the son of a Broadway legend. How had levelheaded Isabelle Sinclair let herself fall head over heels in love with Brandon Slade? No matter how great he made her feel when they were together, she knew he was out of her league. All she wanted was to enjoy their relationship while it lasted.
Brandon had never met anyone like Isabelle...so genuine and full of life. For years, the single dad had locked up his heart. Now Isabelle made him want to risk it again. But evidently Isabelle couldn't believe Brandon could love an "ordinary girl" like her. How could he convince her she was everything he'd ever wanted-and thought he'd never find?

Marie Rydzynski-Ferrarella
aka Marie Charles, Marie Michael, Marie Nicole, Marie Ferrarella

Marie Rydzynski was born on March 28 in West Germany to Polish parents. She moved to America at the age of four. For an entire year, Marie and her family explored the eastern half of the country before finally settling in New York.

Marie swears she was born writing, "which must have made the delivery especially hard for my mother." From an early age, Marie's parents would find her watching television or tucked away in some private place, writing at a furious pace. "Initially, I began writing myself into my favourite shows. I was a detective on '77 Sunset Strip,' the missing Cartwright sibling they never talked about on 'Bonanza' and the 'Girl from U.N.C.L.E.' before there was a 'Girl from U.N.C.L.E.,' not to mention an active participant in the serialized stories of 'The Mickey Mouse Club.'" Marie began to write her first romance novel when she was 11 years old, although she claims that, at the time, she didn't even realize it was a romance! She scribbled off and on, while dreaming of a career as an actress.

Marie was only 14 when she first laid eyes on the man she would marry, truly her first love, Charles Ferrarella. During her days at Queens College, New York, acting started to lose its glamour as Marie spent more and more time writing. After receiving her English degree, specialising in Shakespearean comedy, Marie and her family moved to Southern California, where she still resides today.

After an interminable seven weeks apart, Charles decided he couldn't live without her and came out to California to marry his childhood sweetheart. Ever practical, Marie was married in a wash-and-wear wedding dress that she sewed herself, appliqués and all. "'Be prepared' has always been my motto,"the author jokes. This motto has been stretched considerably by her two children, Nikky and Jessi, "but basically, it still applies," she says.

In November of 1981, she sold her first novel for Harlequin. Marie, who now has written over 150 novels, has one goal: to entertain, to make people laugh and feel good. "That's what makes me happy," she confesses. "That, and a really good romantic evening with my husband." She's keeping her fingers crossed that her reader's enjoy reading her books as much as she enjoyed writing them.

What The Single Dad Wants is the sixth book in the Matchmaking Mamas series by Marie Ferrarella. It is also available in the Six More Hot Single Dads! ebook collection by Mills & Boon.

Isabella Sinclair is a Physio Therapist. She is hired to work with Anastasia, an elderly Broadway star, to help her recover from a broken hip in as quick a time as possible so that she can get back to work. In order to do that she is to live in with the star who is staying with her son and his daughter.

Brandon Slade is a famous writer, he's been a single dad since his daughter was only a month old when her mother walked out on them both. Isabella is a huge fan of both Brandon and his mother and can't believe that she is getting to spend time living with them.

There is an immediate attraction between them and when Brandon starts to spend some time with Isabella in order to help him get past his writer's block they start to feel more than just lust for each other. Brandon never thought he'd want to marry again, and Isabella hasn't had a long-term relationship ever thanks to her parents' awful marriage. Could they heal each other's broken hearts and be able to have a future together?

The actual storyline was just OK for me. It didn't captivate me or encourage me to read to read quickly to see what would happen next. There wasn't any real drama, it was just a sweet, nice story. The cover was very deceiving showing a toddler when in actual fact Brandon's daughter is 12 years old. The saving grace of this story was Anastasia, what a character she is. She made the book worth reading and I could happily read another book all about her! Would I recommend this book, on its own, not so much, but as part of a collection which is how I read it, yes I would.

It's a nice story, I like this series more than I thought I would. I expected Brandon's daughter to be up to one year due to the cover, though.

O P I N I Ó N P E R S O N A L

This was a quick easy read. Brandon a famous writer crosses paths with Isabelle and things seem to take off from there. Due to certain circumstances Isabelle has the chance to be part of Brandon's life for the next six weeks. She feels like it's a dream come true, but feels like Brandon is well out of her league.

In the end true love always comes thru. This is a quick easy read. A nice feel good book for the beach or for relaxing by the poolside.

This book was harder for me to stay engaged in then the previous books in the series, but still managed to keep me interested enough to keep me reading. I liked the characters, but found myself skimming through the love scenes.

I enjoyed it though it seemed a little simplistic.
