Marlys Millhiser is an American author of fifteen mysteries and horror novels. Born in Charles City, Iowa, Millhiser originally worked as a high school teacher. She has served as a regional vice president of the Mystery Writers of America and is best known for her novel The Mirror and for the Charlie Greene Mysteries. Millhiser lived in Boulder, Colorado.

I picked this one up at the library because it had a cat on the cover, it took place in Boulder, and had a female protagonist. I thought it was terrible! Sour lead character, an impossibly jumpy and confusing plot, and gruesome bits about dead cats and caged mountain lions! I'm still unclear about some of the occult/weird devices the author has used, for reasons I still don't get. I'd skip this one, even if you like the Charlie Greene character, which I did not.
