A man and a woman both have secrets that can destroy but in this story they have the power to turn the tide and make those negatives into the most positive force of all-–love.
Melora is the heroine with an extra talent. She’s a witch on the run and is most desperate when I meet her in this story. What I found interesting is how Ms. Schneider had her heroine not only knowledgeable about things in the world but unafraid to face them head on. Melora is not depicted as a shy young miss but a woman w ...more

With its well-written storyline, and delightfully gothic mood throughout, this novella is an absolutely pleasurable reading experience. Sebastian’s angst is described with such believability that I literally groaned at times when he refused to give in to his instincts and all-encompassing desire. The setting and the tone are almost flawlessly depicted. The characters, including most of the minor ones are multifaceted, intriguing creations arising from this author’s imagination. Combining non-gra

The Witch and the Vampire was a wonderful story. It is filled with intrigue, mystery, and suspense. This is a great second story in Tricia Schneider’s series. She did a great job of entwining the first and second stories together.
Melora Merriweather is a brave heroine that is looking out for everyone. Sebastian is an honourable hero that takes protecting Melora very seriously. It’s hard not to care for these characters. Tricia Schneider’s writing makes you feel like you are right there living th ...more

Melora is travelling during a blizzard escaping her controlling uncle in the second book of the Merriweather Witches series. She is rescued by Sebastian Collins and he reluctantly takes her to his estate. The author has created strong and distinct characters. Their attraction is immediate but they do not give into their feelings. In this page turner the story moves quickly. Is a wit ...more

So this is the second book in the series that Tricia Schneider wrote. I liked that it took place at the same time as the other story, just in a different location. Again, this was a novella, not a full book. I use that term because these are not full novel length stories.
I think that the idea behind this one was a bit more thought out. There was more struggle to this one and I liked that. The characters in this o ...more

The road is treacherous due to the unrelenting blizzard, but Melora Merriweather is desperate to escape her horrid uncle and his vile plans to marry her off to a decrepit old geezer.
Sebastian Collins is on an urgent journey to London when he comes across an overturned carriage, in deep snow, perched precariously on the edge of a formidable cliff.
Sebastian gallantly rescues the bedraggled young woman and, at her insistence, delivers her to Caldwell House, which, unbeknownst to Melora, is also his ...more

Yay. It's Melora's story. Another quick enjoyable read.
Melora was in the same predicament as her sister Lillian. The only help she can go to was from a letter to her father which she discovered. As she reaches her destination, no sooner than she met Sebastian was that all is not what it seems especially after she discovers Sebastian's predicament.

I couldn’t give this book even 3 Hoots. The flow was choppy. I could not emotionally connect with the characters or the situation. The first couple chapters really reminded me of Dracula, not the writing style, but the story itself. (Melora was heading to Mr. Collins house in a carriage, through a storm, there was a crash. Unbeknownst to her Mr. Collins is the one to help her, and she asks him to take her to the Caldwell House. He takes her and drops her off at the door telling her she should te

** I received this book in exchange for an honest review. Lovers of Paranormal, LoP**
'The Witch and the Vampire' is a good paranormal romance quick read. I liked the storyline and how it played out. It has a uniqueness concerning vampires in general. Melora is a good and kind hearted lead. Sebastian is, as with most vampires, hot and sexy. I enjoyed reading this book and I can't wait to read the following books in this series. A great add to your tbr list. ...more
