Beautifully realistic illustrations and educational. I only wish the human boy hadn't been included in every picture

Youngsters meet ten mammals, including sea otters, dolphins, manatees, humpback whales and walruses, and learn about each animal's unique sleeping habits. While the brief portraits are based on up-to-date scientific research, the facts are woven into simple, poetic language and rich oil paintings capture the ocean's habitats and its appealing creatures. Waterbeds Sleep In The Ocean was beautifully illustrated. The colors and drawings were straight on.

If I was doing research on water animals that sleep in the water, Waterbeds Sleep In The Ocean would be included as one of my go to reference books. Author Karwoski knew exactly how to speak to children and hold their attention. At the end of the book was more information and experiments to try.
