Schieber, who is based in Ohio, presents photographs of the state side by side in historical and contemporary shots, organized by region. Town scenes, landscapes, farms, historical sites, rivers and waterways, industry, and transportation are all themes featured. Each region is accompanied by a brief introduction that details history and points of interest. Photos were drawn from historical societies, local organizations, collectors, and family collections, and are shown alongside contemporary pictures of the same shots rephotographed by Schieber. Text is by Smith, also editor of the volume, who is a writer and graphic designer in Ohio. There is no index. The book measures 14.5x10.5". This is primarily a photo book where the photographer recereated photos from old publications, records or postcards. It was really neat to see how thing had changed.
