After using counselling this book was a brilliant next step. Kennerley does a good job of making sure anybody who is using the book as a self-help guide is safe and empowered to do so. This book really helped me work on myself and my own childhood.

I can't recommend to read this book, unless you have very deep and serious problems (and you should see a specialist in that case, anyway)
