Cleaning out boxes of books I came across this one. Bought it for my wife many years ago and thought I would re-read it. Poems, stories, recipes & songs all related to love and relationships - a little over the top but for a hopeless romantic like me it hit the spot.

I loved the illustrations. I love the vintage Valentines. I loved the letters from a few famous people (like Winston Churchill) to their spouses. They were sweet and show a simpler time that we have lost.

I had bought this book years ago and recently decided to catch up reading some of the items. I ended up reading the entire book. It has some wonderful poems, recipes and stories, and I loved the illustrations.

I'm usually not a fan of those little gift books that people give, and I usually end up re-gifting them. But this one is full of classic poems, excerpts from famous novels (Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice), even recipes. I'm keeping this one.
