I love the idea of a cat who drinks single-malt scotch, wears topaz earrings to match his eyes, travels the world, and whose best friends are people. He's a philanthropist and a psychologist to boot. loved this one too! have them both in hardcover, i don't do that often, i really have to love it alot to part with the cash for hardcovers. it's a wonderful companion to the first book, and leaves it on a good note. i wanted more about james, but never got it :( but, that's ok, i guess. glad for the 2 books we got about him. he reminds me alot of my cat, fred. if you've read the first one, read this one too!

Second book about a brilliant and charismatic cat named James, who--together with his American friend--engages in various adventures, many connected with the antiques trade. For instance, James helps his nameless friend find two rare terracotta statues for a client; he also exposes an art forger who works for a museum. James also does matchmaking and, in this book, captains a croquet team, where he has to be taught a lesson about sportsmanship.
