I was never much of a history buff but this book was enjoyable and informative end to end. Although it's been some time since I read it, I still remember scenes vividly and the history it covers has come up again and again. I'm currently reading the John Adams tome by McCullough and although written well and thorough, it raises the question, do we really need to know all this detail to know the man and his life's work.
