The book was compelling enough to get me out of bed and I was motivated to read towards the end. I loved Spencer and Polly, but the other characters, along with some scenes, was dry and dull. I was confused on the main character's intentions of the mystery, for it was not her initial responsibility to discover, or on the criminal's intention of the crime itself. It was overall just decent.

Polly is on a little "getaway" from her photography business to take some wedding photos for her best friend's wedding. Seems Polly is capturing more than just happy wedding guests and the happy couple though in her photos. Before the happy couple has even arrived Polly has found the dead body of a man she has always said she wished would just die. She never thought it would ever happen though, especially not in the form of a murder right before her best friend's wedding. The suspects that look ...more

Polly Perkins, is excited. A chance to branch out beyond her family studio, as a photographer, with the possibility of a nature segment in a magazine, plus she is also going to be taking photographs of her best friend's wedding, while at the beautiful Caldera National Park. What she does not know and could not have foreseen, is that she is fixing to be thrown right in the middle of a murder investigation.

A man, that she blames for her best friend in high schools death, turns up at the Park and

Last night I indulged in creative juice sensation with Elizabeth Goddard's Carol Award Finalist THE CAMERA NEVER LIES. I wish there was a way to give 6 stars on the reviews!

The main character, Polly, is simply taking a weekend off to photograph a dear friend's small location wedding in a national park. The action begins immediately with threats and surprise meetings, followed closely by the appearance of a body. A dead body to be exact. Horribly gruesome, but then a murder mystery isn't quite al

Polly Perkins is a photographer with a bad habit of hiding behind her camera and living life through it's optical image. Invited by her best friend, Rene, to the Oregon coast to photograph her long-awaited wedding; Polly finds herself tracking down a murderer instead when a body falls out of her mother's closet. Desperately seeking to absolve her mother of any guilt in the murder, she takes pictures to help solve the murder. Will Polly find the truth in time? Or will all the preparations for the ...more
I really wanted to like this book, I really did. The photographer in me wanted to like it, the travel lover in me wanted to like it, and the book lover in me wanted to love it -- and another reason for picking up the book that I'll omit. The story dealt with a photographer visiting a national park (she should have left it as Crater Lake not Caldera) where a murder occurred not too far into the story that just didn't hold my attention, and a bit of romance that never really flowed with the main s ...more
This book started out very fast going straight into the murder. What kept me interested in the book was the investigation aspect of the story but seemed draggy when the main character wasn't out searching for clues. As things picked up and the puzzle pieces began to form the murder scenario, the big twist in events and who the murderer kept me turning the pages, but was quite unrealistic. Also when they found out who the real murderer was it just basically ended, no chase no nothing just, "oh we ...more

I love many things about this author. She is a Texas, currently lives in East Texas but recently lived 5 yrs. in Oregon. She is a believer and a Pastor's wife and she home schools her children. This was a random find at Wal-mart. But I enjoyed the humor and mystery. I could've done w/out the little bit of romance she threw in. Why, oh, why do Christian women authors feel the need to add romance all the time. But that is my personal soap box. Overall, this book was an easy read, kept my attention ...more

This was of those books that I only finished for the sake of finishing it. The book was just no my style it was almost too slow and drawn out. And I did not like what the author did with Spencer and Polly through out the book. They seemed to just walk around each other without really crossing paths until the end.Just my thoughts. It was over all just an average book that I will probably forget about in a couple of months.

I enjoyed this book. It was an easy light read with fun characters. The writing style was easy to read and had a nice flow. The characters had their own uniqueness. I wasn't sure until the end whodunit. :) My only issue was the ending seemed a little rushed, and it was a little bit vague as to the reason for the crime.

Overall a good read, and I look forward to reading more by Elizabeth Goddard.

I enjoyed this light read. The main character was determined and I loved Spencer, her love from the past. I also enjoyed all the characters and the fast flow of the book. I like a mystery that's not too complicated or violent, and enjoyed the romance most of the way through. I just expected more about the romance at the end. It ended too abruptly. But overall, a good read.

A delightful easy short mystery. The book is a Christian mystery with a little romance thrown in. It's a basic quick read. It had some descriptive background to give you a taste of the setting for the story but not enough to paint a complete picture.

Awesome story, great intrigue. I bought it and will definitely read it again!
It took me forever to get into this book becuase it was just way too much drama. It was unpredictable which is good in a mystery but just not very enjoyable.
