Great ideas when you want something different!

I seem to enjoy reading these books more than trying their suggestions. I think I find a mixture of inspiration and difficulty in Martha's approach to making things exactly how you want -- stuff like visiting a glazier. I totally appreciate not buying ready-made stuff, then dealing with it as is -- I'd love to be more involved in making everything in my house Just Right. But I think I'm too cheap, or too lazy, or both.
