THIS WAS SO STINKIN' CUTE. I love cute comics and Spiderman was simple adorkable here. It's, like the title implies, a bit of a mashup. There's not much plot so much as a whole heap of Marvel characters weaving in and out of Spiderman's life...and he's also having an existential crisis. BUT HE'S SO CUTE.

So weird that black widow isn't considered part of SHIELD yet. I like Shang-Chi's story though. He seems cool.

I haven't read any of the Spider-man books for a very long time, but I enjoyed this one. I like the new protrayals of familar characters, especialy the "Ultimate Super Special" storyline, where Peter works through what it means to be a 16 year old superhero.

If you want to know why Marvel and DC are falling apart, it's because they think we're nostalgic for the 70s and they keep producing stuff like this. Nobody cares. Yeah, it's competently done, but it's old news. There is not enough lipstick in the world to make this pig look good again.

Shame this series came to an end, I liked it as a way to introduce heroes to the Ultimate Universe and have fun, episodic adventures.

Spiderman meets.. the black widow and a master of kung fu. Again it concentrates on the new characters in the ultimate universe rather than the story.
