From the Foreword by J.A. Konrath: "Crouch is one of the best thriller short story writers I know. He uses words like an artist uses a paintbrush; to hurt, to stun, to shock, to provoke, to touch. This collection also features my very favorite short story of all time. Not just my favorite by Crouch, but the best one I've ever read by anyone. It's called "Unconditional." It ...more

All of these Novellas were wayyy too short! but only because I wanted them to keep going! they were all too good to only be novellas. They were each different and powerful in their own way! Blake Crouch is incredibly talented! And I am going to read everything he ever and is going to write! Huge fan!

If I had to pick one as my favourite it would be "Serial". it was so gruesome it made me flinch. I literally closed my eyes, puckered my nose, shook my head to try and get the image out of my mind a

This was a fun audiobook for me. Each story was just long enough, with the exception of one, that it filled my commute with an entire story. As the title suggests, they definitely had their fair share of thrills. Crouch got me a few times. I kept thinking that I had every idea as to the direction the story was taking, only to be completely wrong. I'm usually pretty good at guessing, so this was a nice surprise.

I love that several of the stories were read by the same narrator as the Andrew Z Thom

Great collection of dark stories....very dark. Some stories involve torture.....seriously very dark. I liked Letty the thief (last story) and will look for more stories with her.

Fully Loaded is a collection of different lengths, from less than one page (yes, really) to a couple that are a good hour's read, and every one is very good indeed; I wonder if the shorter story may be absolutely Crouch's forte, because each one encapsulates all that is brilliant about his writing. My favorite novel of his is Abandon, and the very best in the Fully Loaded collection is an outtake from it, On The Good, Red Road, which is as stunningly good as the main story. My other favourites w ...more

I first started to listen to this on audiobook, but whereas I thought the first story was very compelling, I also thought the narrator was horrendous and was going to ruin the whole book for me. So I returned the audiobook and waited patiently for my library to get the print copy in. I'm glad I waited. Some of these stories were VERY hard to read (because of content), but man, Crouch can spin a good tale. They're dark, but I wouldn't have them any other way. The last story in the collection is a ...more

I absolutely hate short stories but I positively lapped these up! I'm a huge fan of Crouch and he even managed to make me love these short stories. His ingenuity and fearlessness when approaching the human psyche astounds me time and time again. Love him, love his work.

Great Stories

I'd read several of these in other collections, but the handful I hadn't were still worth the price. Crouch is a phenomenal writer who never fails to impress.

My attention span is weird due to my ADD so I need time to engage with the characters or I can't really focus, hence not listening to short stories often. But Blake Crouch is amazing; he made me pay attention and engage with each one of those stories. They're all so complete in such short space, it's incredible.

I like Blake's novels unfortunately though I think I've read them all. Even his short story compilations I realize I've read most of them. still, I like this author.

Great short stories

Picked this up after reading several of Blake Crouch's longer books. Very good stories and worth adding to your library.

Wow, several of these stories were dark, suspenseful.
Couldn't put it down. Not a fan of the cover though but an excellent read.

Without a doubt, unconditional and the meteorologist were my favorite shorts out of this one anthology . Despite their lack of violence; I believe crouch was at his best when he wrote those two.

Ten Tasty Horror Short Stories

FULLY LOADED:THE COMPLETE AND COLLECTED STORIES OF BLAKE CROUCH is a tasty collection of short horror stories by the accomplished author. Of note, these stories, many of which are chock full of murder and mayhem, are devoid of any hint of the supernatural that pervades the vast majority of what most consider horror today. Instead, for the most part, they concentrate on human horror and depravity. I am a new fan of BC's having previously read the novels PINES, WAYWAR

Blake Crouch is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. His books are great thrillers and he's always offering free/reduced price e-books (not to mention his e-books are generally less than $5 regular price). Previously, these short stories were only available separately, but now they're offered in this short story collection.

Since there are ten separate stores in this collection, I'll just comment on my favorite/least favorite:

-The Meteorologist was probably my least favorite. It's not th

A collection of short stories in the terror/thriller category - reminiscent of Stephen King, but without the gore - except in a few cases. My favorite was the last one, "The Pain of Others," with the focus on a female thief, who - in the course of a robbery - overhears a hitman and his client discussing the planned killing of the client's wife. Displaying a rare selflessness, the thief decides to try to stop it - with some unexpected results. The stories vary in theme and quality of execution, b ...more

With every new book or story that I read by Blake Crouch, he keeps climbing up the charts of my list of favorite authors. This collection of 10 short stories is definitely worth reading. The only clunker in the group may be "The Newton Boys' Last Photograph", just because it's only 25 words long. However, the poem the story originates from is included in Crouch's introduction to the story and it is quite good.

Super collection of short stories. Some were really disturbing, some had a funny ironic twist and some were just odd. I love short stories because I can read for a little while, put it down, and then come back to it when I am ready. Got this one on my Kindle while on vacation and it made a great read while we were chilling out in our room. Quick reads that were really enjoyable.

I haven't read a book this fast in a very long time. When I started a story, I wanted to know how it ended and they were short enough to be finished quickly. I didn't know Blake Crouch 6 months ago and now he's my favourite author.

This short story collection is very much in the Stephen King path, but a little different. Ordinary circumstances and seemingly ordinary people take very extra-ordinary twists and turns. I can recommend the book. I found it hard to read before I went to bed though! I love this kind of fiction.

First I read Abandon; now I'm hooked on this author!

Short stories that sweep you up in no time. Take the journey and as you read the last line....you're hungry for more. I love this author and will start at the beginning and read all of his works.

another great book by Blake Crouch. Its refreshing to see that he can write beautifully in something other than horror. Although all of his writing is dark, most of these short stories are not graphic and violent like his Andrew Thomas series is.
