Kiss Me Forever

He's Hot. He's Sexy. He's Romantic. He's Immortal.

If there is one thing Dixie LePage does not need in her life, it's complications. And the man sitting across the table from her in a crowded English pub, the one offering to buy the library of her inherited estate in a small English village, is a major complication. For starters, there's the broad shoulders. The slightly amused smirk. That smoldering look that makes it impossible to concentrate. And that infuriating, old-fashioned, and well, okay, incredibly appealing sense of chivalry. No doubt about it, the guy is hot and sexy. Of course, there is one wee little problem: He claims to be a vampire named Christopher Marlowe, as in THE Christopher Marlowe, famous playwright, contemporary of Will Shakespeare. Right. Amend that to hot, sexy, and totally insane. Please see "no more complications." So why can't Dixie seem to resist the warmth of Christopher's charm, the protective feel of his strong hands, or the tempting pull of his full mouth when the sun goes down. . .?

Love Me Forever

Does This Come In My Size?

Justin Corvus. That was the name of the gorgeous, dark-eyed charmer holding her hand in a sensual clasp, turning her knees into jelly. All struggling, single mother Stella Schwartz meant to do was let her son, Sam, browse through books at Dixie's Vampire Emporium. She hadn't counted on the shop assistant being a stylish super-hunk with the kind of Hugh Grant accent that makes a woman's thoughts wander through a neighborhood called Take Me Now, Please. And to top it off, the man's a sweetheart. The way he picked up on the fact that she didn't have two red cents for the Halloween costume Sam wanted but made it happen anyway? Total head-over-heels time. When Justin smiles at her, it's as if he's known her forever. . .and when he asks for her phone number--to let her know when the costume is ready, of course--Stella can't help wanting this feeling to go on forever. There's something very different about Justin Corvus. . .different and irresistible. . .

Kiss Me Forever
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Being as I am fascinated by the mystery of Christopher Marlowe and love vampires, it was the perfect book for me. Kit was to die for and is now one of my fave vamps of all time. Dixie was a smart heroine, which was nice, without being a Mary Sue. The humor was right up my alley and I just loved almost everything about it.

I only have a few minor quibbles - some editing, a bit of the plot seemed to change around the 290 page mark (but it kinda makes sense), and the remark that Ohio doesn't have that much sun. Seeing how the author lives in Ohio, I don't get how she could write that. We have some killer sunlight, especially in the summer, and it makes no sense to me whatsoever. No biggie, but it boggled my mind anyway, and gave me a bit of a chuckle. LoL

Still, overall it was a great, intelligent paranormal romance that while keeping 'typical' vampire characteristics, still made them fresh and innovative. A wonderful read with terrific characters! I cannot wait to get to Tom and Justin's stories.

Book one: Kiss Me Forever, told from Dixie's Point of view. She moves to Britan after inheriting her Great Aunt's home looking for a fresh start from her own discombobulated life. Re-discovering herself in new surroundings helps her character tremendously. She falls for Kit Marlow (yes the author really did use this name and based it on the real author) only to discover he is really a vampire. Reguardless she is in-love...

This one was worth the read until an obvious transition part that led to silly writing and over done ideas. It really was sad reading this story fall apart. It almost felt like someone else entirely wrote the first half of the book. Fortunately it pulls together in the end.

Book two: Love me Forever, I was so happy to hear more of Dixie and Kit togther, but the Stella & Justin was riduculous. I did not really feel the same passion like the first book. The side storyline was really weak. Sam, Stella's son was cute, but that was about it. I was so thankful when I finished dredging through this mess.

Save yourself a headache and only read "Kiss Me Forever".

I would actually give the first one closer to a 4; it was more literate than some in this genre, and I liked that she picked Christopher Marlowe as her historical vampire.
The second one didn't grab me as much, and it wraps up rather too easily at the end. Still not certain why Justin was let off the hook for violating the laws.
My biggest complaint is the hideous job of proofreading throughout both books - "the" instead of "then," "Julian" instead of "Justin" at one point - where did that come from? Very distracting.

Kiss Me Forever:
This book intro's a Dixie LePage. An American woman who has just inherited a home & a fortune from her unknown recently deceased aunt. Having just been fired from her job in American she wants to relocate for a while and consider her options away from the stressers of her regular life. So she comes to her newly acquired home in England. But all is not well her late grandmother was a secret witch and now some towns people will stop it nothing to get the secrets that her grandmother hid. But Dixie finds she has an ally, Christopher Marlow... a vampire. Despite his best efforts, Christoper is bowled over by Dixie's attitude and her lust for life. Together they try to fight against those who would seek to do her arm while forming a love that they did not thought they would find.

I loved this part of the book for its uncomplicated story. It was a love story with a little action thrown in. The characters mesh very well with each other. The characters don't seem to fight against their feelings, they only seem to fight against their circumstances.

Love Me Forever:
This book intro's Justin Corvus, a friend of Christopher & Dixie, on vacation from his native England. A very old vampire he has grown tired of his long life alone, having wasted years of his life in pursuit of a woman who does not love him. While helping out Dixie in a shop that she runs called the Vampire Emporium, Justin happens to meet Stella Schwartz & her son. Although she is instantly attracted to Justin, she worries that she has nothing to interest Justin. Yet for the first time in so long Justin is excited for life and finds himself hopelessly in love. Justin has to slowly break down the walls of Stella's mind and heart, to show her that love can and does exist.

I loved this book because Stella knows almost instantly that she has fallen quickly and hard for Justin. Yet life has taught her to be extremely cautious with her life and that of her sons. Stella has worked hard for all that she has, even if it isn't very much by most people's standards, she worries about letting her attraction to Justin get attached for something she thinks will only be temporary. I love how Justin's quiet strength and understanding combat against Stella's reluctance to love.

Rosemary Laurey is one of my long time favorite authors. Her Forever Vampires series has sat on my shelf for years and been one of the only series I've been able to read over and over again like its the first time every time. I've read these two books at least 15 times a piece. The sex scenes aren't too raunchy, she does it in a classy way that doesn't sour your taste for the actual story, and it takes at least 100 pages before she even gets into that. She really builds the romance between her characters rather than just acting like people fall in forever love within 48 hours. With the exception of the vampire/ghoul/goblin/witch aspects of it the story is realistic. She paints beautiful scenes, i've never been to England but I felt like I was SEEING where her characters were and what the landscaping and set up of the town was. Her characters are very dynamic from the sweet yet strong Dixie, to the stern but giving Kit she does it all. No two characters seem exactly alike, nor do they only have one dimension. To this day I still wait and hope Rosemary Laurey will continue the series, maybe talk about what happens with Stella's (Kiss Me Forever)son Sam as he gets older. This is a definite read for anyone who likes different types of vampire stories than the original Count Dracula style Vampire, and it's not as cheesy as the Twilight style vampires who sparkle in sunlight. these books (and whole series) get an A++ from me!

This is two books in one, the first two of a series. They both rate 3 stars. They're both what I would call more fluff than quality story, but a pleasant enough diversion. I would pick up the others in the series if I was bored, but I'm in no big hurry to read the rest.

"Kiss Me Forever" (finished 7-Nov-08): I really enjoyed the beginning, the end was okay, but the middle got a little slow and predictable. Even so, I liked it well enough, and will read the second story eventually. It's very much a "vampire romance" - for me, a little too much vampire sex, and not quite enough story.

"Love Me Forever": As with the first, it was a little heavy on the vampire sex and a little light on story for my taste, but it held my attention all the way through, better than the first. This one took place in Columbus, Ohio, which added a bit to the story for me (as I live in central Ohio).

What a treat! Rosemary Laurey is one of the "Authors After Dark," and "Kiss Me Forever," was the first I have read from this author. This was a gentle, sensual read. Some authors are right out there with description to the max, but Laurey gives you the opportunity 2 use your imagination. I felt when Dixie changed a whole shift occurred. I would read other novels from this author. Lay back, turn the TV off, cuddle up with a warm blanket and enjoy.

Funny what we remember about a book. Normally, I don't remember book covers. In this one, I remember the book cover and even the Waldenbooks that became Border Express where I found this duet. Back around the turn of the century, before I found Goodreads, I searched high and low for paranormal authors and tried to find something similar to Interview with a Vampire by Anne Rice. Let's just say, Ms. Rice set the bar rather high. This duet is a sweet but a bit forgettable one.

I definitely liked the first book more than the second, probably why I havent continured with the series. Although his reluctance becomes a little tiring. But even the side characters were interesting and gave it all a bit more depth. Enjoyed that the characters from the first were quite involved in the second. I know its set up for the next book, but not sure how I felt about the women who had been messed with by the bad guy and were basically blank slates.

A little too risque for me to recommend. Another vampire novel. And though I liked it, the vampires were a little lame. Changing into bats... really? These vampires were almost as frail as humans, except for their excellent... ahem... in bed qualities. ( I hope only my friends are reading this)

Featuring the playwright Christopher Marlowe as a vampire. I usually don't like it when the vamp is a famous historical personage, but this wasn't bad.

The story itself was great. I just could not get over the amount of mistakes in the book.
