Bright illustrations and fun activities between a dads and their kids. There’s some diversity to the dads, too. Made for a fun father’s day read with my daughter.

I would give this book one and a half stars.
The poetic feel to the story runs smoothly, and the sentiment is nice and spot-on, for the most part. It would be a good Father's Day gift, I'd wager, or even good for just any time.

This book shows the love that kids have for their daddy. How they seem to always remember everything they do with their dad, no matter how small. Like planting a garden- they will remember.

I love You Dad was a great book! The structure of the book is similar to that of I Love you, Mommy. This book takes the light and shines it on the Dads out there. It is rare for me to see father figures take care of their kids as the dad does so in I Love You, Daddy. This book's genre is classified as a fiction/family genre. The illustrations are gorgeous and sync perfectly with the text for a great real aloud lesson. The setting of the story takes place in different places but the dad is consistent through the story to symbolize his importance. The cultures were not as diverse as they could have been, however, the story was nevertheless entertaining. Reading books with different family structures is beneficial for real alouds because every kid has different experiences that need to be touched.
