Rather a confusing book about two girls who both love pink. Rose has issues when Valentina likes her pink lunchbox and pink rocking chair and then gets a pink backpack and paints her playhouse pink.

Rose has a bad attitude about Valentina having a pink ballerina costume that topped her pink princess costume at Valentina's birthday party. Huh... Typical child behavior but there is no correcting of bad attitude by a grown-up.

Rose finally apologizes for her behavior after the other party guests leav

The Pink Party written by Maryann Macdonlad is about two friends who love pink, but get jealous when they out do each other. This book is great for little girls to read because all little girls can get jealous when their friends think of a better idea than they could have. Knowing that just because she thought of it first, doesn't mean she is doing out of spite. Learning how to be a good friend is very important in the beginning years of Elementary Scholl for girls. ...more

A fine tale for any little one obsessed with the color pink and becoming more aware of their own feelings of jealousy/envy, etc.

If you enjoy the Pinkalicious series, you will probably like this. Both are about girls that want everything to colored pink. Both learn the hard way that it's best that there be some things that are NOT pink. ...more
I can't really tell WHY Rose is so ticked at Valentina; why is Rose suddenly upset about Valentina "copying" when they both have been nuts about pink for a long time? Rose ASKED if she could get a lunch box, too! And if she's a little cranky with Valentina, why does she so excited about her party? And WHY does Valentina apologize to Rose? For heaven's sake, she wasn't showing off in the least, she was just wearing a pink outfit like everyone else, and it's HER PARTY. She's ALLOWED to get a littl ...more

A book kids will relate with. Sometimes, it just seems like your friends always one-up you. While the ending is a bit too neat (who just says, Ok, I'm over it?), a nice one for girls learning about jealousy. It's okay to feel upset, even if you know you shouldn't be; you just have to remember that your friends are more important! ...more
