Published in 1988, in the very early days of desktop publishing, this is obviously a dated book. However, the fundamentals of graphic design and layout are still valid, and the author's explanations are always clear. Jan V. White was evidently an erudite person with a sharp sense of humour, and he had a real talent for making complex ideas easy to understand.
