Poignant and timely, this new Bible Study of Kathy Howard’s mingles instruction, individual/group study, and solid, foundational Bible teaching. I appreciate the way that Kathy intertwines the life stories of people who have “unshakeable faith” in the midst of very challenging and at times heart-breaking circumstances, with the life of Peter. Using him as the example of someone who was an ordinary person called to an extra-ordinary purpose, we can learn much from the life-lessons Jesus taught to Peter first hand.
It is not an “easy” study per se. The study is filled with questions that requires the reader to look deeply and honestly into their life. At times that can be unnerving especially when the questions touch a “nerve” that requires change.
Practically, the study is quick to do, thus in a world that is so concerned with time constraints, this eight week study is perfect for someone with a busy lifestyle to commit to.
Although this book can be used for individual study, I think the real benefits will come in a group setting where a teacher and small group can journey through the book together and be a supportive environment for women to share together. (Men may benefit from the study as well, but most of the practical application is geared towards women.)
