Their story will never not upset me. It’s so sad but I also feel so… I’m not quite sure I can articulate it but I guess I feel I understand life better because of it. All of us are reaching for meaning in every little thing, no matter how much we attempt to avoid it. And if anyone milked every moment they could out of life it was Olga.
Also found it entertaining who Pitcher sticks in so much of his own commentary (albeit whether or not this theorizing is too invasive is up for debate). Needless to say, whether or not it is our business, I too have a habit of wondering why these people made the choices they did. And why these plays remain as important as they are.

What a brilliant book that lets you see the life of the artist that shared Chekhovs life. It is a life of extreme love and extreme pain and everything in between.
