This was by far the slowest book I have ever read, this was my concern when I saw how long this series was already. To be honest this book is a solid 2 maybe 2.5 stars, I have not yet decided if I will list it as 2 or 3. I have never been so bored reading a book in my life. It just never really picked up, there were maybe three pages of true climax in total and no real build up to them. I understand that at some point you have to have a slower book in a series to give out more solid and lasting information, to build a foundation, and so on, but this was ridiculous. I actually had to put it down and walk away for the night out of pure irritation, and then forced myself to pick it up again the next day. The synopsis made the ordeal that Willow went through seem so dramatic and in reality it just felt flat and dull. I understand that she may have had a bit of a cloud, so to speak, over herself and her memories but the reader didn't need to feel as dull as she was. It could have been climatic, it could have felt real, instead it felt boring and unnecessary. Even the lead into it could have been more dramatic, instead your left with this feeling like you missed something. It is like the author left out a very important paragraph or to here. I cannot for the life of me figure out how anyone could have given this book five stars or even four. As I said in my review of Insight, "Few books and authors can stand the test of time. I have my doubt this one can." So far I feel that that opinion was correct. I will read book 3, the synopsis makes it appear that that book will possibly make up for the lack of action in this one but we will see, then again this book shows proof that the author can write what appears to be a thrilling synopsis for a ridiculously dull book. If it does not pick up I may just have to give up and quit.
And again with the spelling, grammar, and even spacing issues! One or two is expected but when it is such a large amount of simple things it just becomes ridiculous. It once again feels like the author typed it up and shot it out before even running a spell check, let alone reading it slowly through or having even a friend do so. It seems like the author doesn't care enough about her product to even attempt to put out something with standard quality. I am by no means an editor or a proof reader and yet I found plenty of mistakes, as you can see in my notes/ progress comments, and this was on my first read and to be honest I skimmed a bit. That is pretty sad. All in all the only thing I can say about this book is that I am highly disappointed, this will be my first 2 star review ever.
