I picked this up as I am considering re-training as a counsellor in the future and it was recommended to me as a good text to start with. I really enjoyed the tone. The fact that the author is a counsellor by profession really came through in the timbre of the text. I'm sure I'll be coming back to this if I do go ahead with counselling. Many useful insights well articulated.

An excellent introduction to the principles of becoming a counsellor.
This is a very high-level view, and it's great for anyone who is considering a career in counselling. It touches on a number of points that a beginner may not have considered.

Nice clear introduction to the field of counselling and the skills/traits needed.

Read when I started training as a counsellor. Good simple but insightful book. Worth reading for those interesting in the subject
