Now that the Watchers are free, Billy and his friends embark on the final showdown. Billy and Bonnie go after Clefsphere, journeying into a new world that is more familiar than they suspected, while everyone else organizes the remaining dragons for war. Morgan takes a new hostim. The Watchers battle with strength and treachery.

Really, it's impossible to know how to summarize the book without giving everything away. In fact, if you read the Acknowledgements section at the beginning, you've read t

What a great ending to the series! I'm not sure who I like most, Billy, Bonnie, or Walter! Oh dear, that Walter.

That ending--whew!

Update 9.30.13: Every time I read it, I love it a little more :D

Incredibly cheesy, shallow, simplistic, unrealistic, and condescending (in a lighthearted sort of way). With flat characters, patronizing dialogue, and meaningless villains and death, nothing in this book can be taken seriously.

Medieval sorceresses and hellish demons that say things like "Enough chichat!" or "Oh, don't play dumb, my little brainiac." or "I know you're up to something," or "What do you think I am, your tour guide? I'll shake this plane so hard, you'll hear your own bones rattle!"

What I thought:

Doesn’t that sound exciting? And the cover?? Oh, kill me now!! (uh, not literally! I’ve still got too many TBRs!!)

Anywho, I LOVED this book!! And actually, it’s tied with Circles of Seven for being my favorite DioM book. It’s that good!!

So, this one is a bit darker then the books prior. Like, it’s not dark, but yet it is. Does that make sense? Meaning I’d still let Trevor read it (which he *gasps* hasn’t finished the third book since he got into Harry Potter!!). But I kinda like i

I've finally remembered why I love these books. I love them because I've always dreamed of doing what Billy and Bonnie and Walter and the rest do. It's not an intellectual judgement, why I love these books. It's an emotional connection, a secret yearning.

And there is something very beautiful about an ending.

I've changed my mind about this book since reading it last. It's no longer my least favourite in the four Dragons in Our Midst series. I don't know why I liked it less the other times. I like

Storyline - The final battle is near. There is just one more thing Billy and Bonnie have to do. They must go to where the dragon's spirits have been waiting to be freed and free them. Simple enough. But with Morgan on the loose and going after Billy's friends and the demons, the Watchers, getting ready for battle, the clock is ticking and everything is at stake. Also, the place where the dragons are is a strange place and not all the dragons believe Billy and Bonnie. Can they save the dragons an ...more

Tears of a Dragon gives a heart-warming and stunning ending to the Dragons in our Midst series. The final battle of the Watchers and dragons was heart-wrenching and I simply seemed to be witnessing it personally. I absolutely adore the series, it brought me closer to God and taught me to have faith no matter what condition I am in. How Mr Davis had intertwined the legends, reality, spiritual truths, imagination and God into a single series was amazing! I can never imagine someone having the abil ...more

Wow. As I started reading this book, I quickly realized that the events in this book are the ones that transpired at the end of the Eye of the Oracle. And it upset me, because I knew how everything was going to end, and I didn't want things to end that way. But then I read the book, and found that I was wrong. Yes, the events in this book did also happen in the Eye of the Oracle, but since in this book I'm getting a different angle of the events, I got more of the story, and it didn't end the wa ...more

When a book series starts off great but then ends with a book like this I am just left wondering "why?". When death is completely negated for all intents and purposes every time one of the good guys dies than why should the reader care about what's going on with the story? All tension is completely lost if no matter what, the good guys don't stay dead!

On that note I'd also like to point out that the whole thing about how a women's role was simply to provide masculine energy or whatnot to males

I loved the entire 'Dragons In Our Midst' series, and Tears of a Dragon was a great ending. The story was entertaining and I liked how the characters start to mature more. It ties up a lot of loose ends, but leaves open new mysteries for 'Oracles of Fire' to solve. I also love how Bryan Davis always clearly shows how good conquers evil in the end. (SPOILER ALERT!) It was also satisfying that all the Dragons got a choice of how to become, and that Billy's father became human again. The emotions i ...more

I don't think Bryan Davis' writing style is the best. He can be really cheesy a lot of times. But i really enjoy his plots.

In this book, Billy and Bonnie go to a place called Dragons' Rest to rescue its inhabitants. The dragons living there are those who've died; since they don't have human souls, they had nowhere else to go after death. I liked that aspect of the story and how it reflects the story of Christ.

I also love that these books seem to have been influenced by The Chronicles Of Narn

These books became far too religious and preachy for my taste. And not to mention sexist! There was a hell of a lot of "women help the men fight by supporting them, but don't fight themselves" type stuff. Not to mention the religious undertones that are so in your face I have a hard time calling them "undertones." I just don't really care for this series anymore even though I enjoyed the fantasy aspects of it well enough.

This series had great potential, and had a good plot with good (if cliche) characters that felt familiar. Unfortunately, the writing was painful to get through. It's not that it was bad. I just felt that I had to force myself to read this series that was full of good metaphors, meaningful spiritual anecdotes, and good ethical questions. Most of which were hard to appreciate because reading the whole thing felt like wading through clay.

Yet again, another AWESOME book!!! They just get better and better! I'm so sad that I've read them all, but I can't wait to read the other series!!!!
This book was I think the best of all four, though "The Candlestone" rates a close second. This one is a "Stay up til 3 am" book, while the other three only made it til 2 am ;D I wonderful final installment, in a truely awesome series of books!!!!!!!!

In my opinion, the first one was amazing, the second one was good, and the third and fourth were okay. It kind of started to feel like a Marvel movie, because whenever someone died you could pretty much just assume they would be fine. I was also a bit disappointed by the ending, but that might depend on the reader

Okay, this one took forever to get through! It was good, but, for me, it read very slowly like a classic. The ending was great, but because of the pacing, I am probably not going to continue reading. Also, slight cliffhanger ending - WHY?!

Just as good, if not better, than the rest of the series. I think I might be in love with Billy Bannister...and Jared Bannister...and maybe even Clefspeare. I just love the whole series and can't wait to get round to Oracles of Fire series.

By far my favorite of the Dragons in our Midst series, this is the most action filled of them all. The last of it's series, it brings everything to close in a very dramatic and touching way.
