This is a princess who saves princes – ones who’ve been turned into frogs, who’ve been kidnapped by ogres, and who are locked in terrible dungeons. A charming book that turns centuries of storytelling on its head.
I liked the role-reversal concept behind this book where the princess rescues the prince. However, the book blatantly and purposefully makes the claim that there is no explanation for how she accomplishes certain feats. For me, this book fell a little short of my expectations.
Little girls will enjoy this book about a princess who turns the tables on an ogress. Breaking the fourth wall didn't really work for me, but I think modern kids might like it.
