A lovely book to get some inspiration and tips for a garden design project.
I absolutely love everything I have read by this author. I can spend hours pouring over his books, imagining how I could use the designs in my own yard. Many of the plants won’t work well in the desert, where I live, but the designs will. That’s what I love most about Newbury’s books. They have given me so many good ideas and information about designing a space. That is what is missing when I look at the yards around town. People seem to plant things without an overall plan. This book really helps with that.
A great book to provide ideas for all sorts of garden types. Gave me some great ideas for the design of my new garden which i shall work on to sort myself.
Has great ideas for designing narrow yards and spaces. Easy & comprehensible for a beginner landscape designer or student. Mature experience designer could skip this book. What I really liked about Garden Design Book was how the author presented with each design drawn in 2D in the book the question " what makes this a good such-in-such garden?" and the author gave great ideas how this talking point could be showcased in a design presentation to a client. For that the book deserves 4 stars.
