i really dunno how to review arabic books
but i really loved this book, the style, the plot, the characters, the mystery in it
all of it. i was a bit dissapointed by the end but except from that it was a heavy/light read if you know what i mean.

I was waiting for December to come to read this one.
Hope it's not gonna be another disappointment!

Well! what can I say...
It's unfortunate that each time I read one of أثير عبدالله النشمي books I end up with the same remarks.

I'll first start with her writing style, I said this before when I read "أحببتك أكثر مما ينبغي" book, her writing style and her ideas are pretty similar to أحلام مستغانمي style and ideas. It's obvious that she is largely influenced by her, which is

I bought this book to my sister and ended up reading 3/4 of it in my way back home because I was bored and had nothing else to do. I've got to say that this was a surprising book. I never intended to read it, to be honest, because I thought it's just like most of the other arabic books which are about tragic love stories. However, this one was very neatly written and it's more of a philosophical book than a novel. I loved it, although the end wasn't that appealing to me but then again, I didn't ...more

are you serious ?
no/weak plot twists
the writer exploited her background community to the limit.
one qoute that is good enough is
العراق لا يأبه لمن يخسره يا هذام
pretty much accurate.

In english, "In December, All Dreams End".
Such a descriptive, sad story. The figurative language, themes and unusual storyline was so captivating. I lived in what people would describe as gloominess in a closed bubble which invisible writings of sadness was carved on it. It was more than a story of a character. A type of book that I read with my soul and was filled with indescribable, heavy weighted emotions. Also, it was beautifully written in mixed versions of Arabic which was a great way of

The writing is good , It's just unrealistic ...
She had all the elements of a romantic novel ( books, music -piano violin- , philosophical theories, rain , December , and London ) ... and that broken hearted man ...
I hated him ... he's pathetic , self centered and a coward.
I hated how she shoved quotes and music in everyline ...
I hated their too intellectual conversations It was absolutely unrealistic...
Arabic romance just doesn't apply to me.
It's all about emotions and what they think of (

The beginning of the novel was more than wowwwwww ...the way of the writing was tooo much interesting but there was some points in the book i didnt like ..wen the writer talks about religion...its kinda exaggerated ....what i learned at the end of the novel that family ,love and religion are everything in the life without them u r nothng ...once ur dead u will be forgotten like u werent even born ....:):)

I hate myself for spending my weekend on this trash just because a colleague insisted that I would LOVE it. Excuse my French but those were 184 pages of literary diarrhea. Nothing but irrelevant "inspiring" quotes inserted every other line and a monologue that feeds on repetition. The essence of this "novel" could have been summarized in a short story or one lame Facebook status.

This was my redemption book into arabic books, i enjoyed every aspect of it right up intil the end i couldn't stand it though i'll give you this much Mr athir you described what we could feel in different stages of our lives whether it was in being in love, falling out of love or grieving over a past love. It was so accurate so beautiful yet so painful ..

I really liked the story... our belongings, beliefs and values are what make each one of us unique in their own way... yet similarity exists but not in every aspect, acceptance is what we should consider to continue living with.

It took me one day to finish, I found a subtle, poignant solitude within its covers. A veraciously courageous novel that indulges in daring topics from tribal, cultural, traditional to religion, philosophy, arabist critique and scrutiny, constructive and insightful on every level. A multitude of genres merged into one work of genius. The novel takes us to sensory peaks in its vivid, honest depiction of human emotion, I loved how I could see through the characters, I could feel the sheer ...more

I enjoyed reading this book. The storyline was captivating, intense, mysterious and informative. I liked how Huzam and Walada met. Okay, it might be a cliché meeting, but who wouldn’t want to meet his/her special someone that way? The end of their encounter was powerful too.
I had a lot to say about Huzam, but I don't want to give out too much in my review. The part about Walada was beautifully written and the accentuation on the Iraqi’s classical music and rich heritage was brilliant. For sure,

"If there is a book that you want to read it, but hasn't been written yet, then you must write it"

first of all ... I liked the previous phrase of the book so much.
Actually, I have no confidence to give my opinion on this book,
because it's realy good. The author describes some examples in life .... but the worst thing that could possibly happen to anybody would be to not be used for .. I can't believe that she marks the end or the beginning of anything of real... This is my principal objection

Poor language, horrible language!
No story at a, just the same words and cheesy sentences repeated over and over.
The book was not recommended to me I just found it and decided to read it to kill boredom but it ended up boring me !
Not recommending it to anyone it is just a waste of time, I don't even know how was it published!!!
I would have rated it 0 stars except the the last two pages of it were somehow normal and the ending was fine.. by the time the book started getting interesting it was the
