More than 400 pages showcasing some of the midwest's most breathtaking garden landscapes. Dozens of ready-to-use landscape plans and how-to projects with step-by-step instructions. Covers gardens in: North and south Dakota Nebraska Kansas Minnesota Iowa Missouri Wisconsin Illinois Michigan Indiana ohio Saskatchewan Manitoba Ontario
An excellent book full of varied information, it's not just focused on plants. Sections include "landscaping with structures," "planning your garden," "finishing touches," and more. There's a small DIY section at the end that would be useful in deciding if a project might suit your skill levels, though I think more detailed instructions might be needed. I enjoyed the book. There are lots of pictures and helpful diagrams. It would be a good "non-plant" reference book for Midwestern gardens. The major flaw to me seems to be an assumption of more space for a garden than is usual in my town. I would have to shrink down many of the ideas.
