Jasper Jones is in terrible need of a friend as he tries to solve the mystery of who killed his girlfriend. Jasper and Charles Bucktin realize that Jasper's greatest enemy is Corrigan's small-town mindset which would be quick to judge him as guilty until proven innocent. This novel is more than a murder-mystery; it's a coming of age text which explores the end of childhood innocence and the start of a more adult consciousness of right and wrong.
