Although there were some really helpful and encouraging things in this book, I have to say that I don't think it's actually the ideal book for a complete idiot... I've been running for 4 years, including a half a dozen half marathons, as well as overnight relay races. And the book was fairly helpful. However, I think if I was brand-new to running, I would have been pretty confused. I also think I would've ignored quite a bit of the advice.
Take-aways? Run slower and with improved form.
It doesn't seem like I should've had to read so many pages for such minimal take-away.

I am a complete idiot, but thought this was still above beginner idiot levels. I liked the training schedules though. That was exactly what I wanted to find. I need to have a schedule worked out for me, because I'm an idiot. :)

thorough, but not compelling. i did like that it included some body mechanics in the stretching chapters. good reference or resource.

Helpful! Will be using this as a reference often. Well written and organized.

I found this book to have lots if good info, and it covers several different training methods, pros and cons, and running styles. I wish I would have read it a year ago before my first..
