The boy in this book wishes he could have a snake for a pet, but he knows for sure that his parents wouldn't let him have one. He explains reasons why he wants one and how he could take care of it. My son was challenged by some of the new vocabulary words in this book and it was pretty easy to get through. He is also working retelling a story and this book is the right length for him to read and practice retelling a story.

Very cute easy reader celebrating snakes and the power of imagination. I know I would have loved this book as a kid.
