« Les jeunes m’ont déçu. Ils meurent trop tôt. On n’a pas le temps de s’attacher à eux. »

A dreamed biography. Topor invented for himself a dreamed life full of meeting with famous people. It is an exercice of style sometimes scholarship. No desperate humour, no Madness, a too much normal book but interisting. The cover is tipically 70th.

A very funny, and dead on, parody of the genre of the self important autobiography. I actually have the 2011 Wombat edition (153 pages).

Classic Topor, a writer who's probably little read today - not enough, anyway.
It's his take on autobiographies, that is, it's his lambasting of those autobiographies that pretend rather than reveal: those that lie, really. Those that are written just to project an image, and that will play with facts and contain a lot of fiction just so that their protagonist (who's not always the writer...ironic) will look good.
Of course, any autobiography will be a lie, whether consciously or unconsciouly: any
