This is a pretty good book for a crash course in the Greek alphabet. There are so many exercises, but I didn't do them all. Got out of it what I needed within the first half of the book.
They start off introducing you to the uppercase letters. You start practicing with the ones that have the same sound as its English counterpart. Next, you learn the ones that look like English letters but are pronounced differently, as well as the characters that don't exist in the English alphabet. There are only 24 letters. Around 4 or so chapters, after some reading practice, you become quickly familiarised with the 24 characters.
You are also introduced to letter combos such as: OY, EI, AI, AY, EY, OI, NT, and a few more (that I can't type out with my English keyboard at the moment). It doesn't take long to get used to them with the reading examples.
Lastly, you learn the lowercase letters. Some of them look similar to its uppercase equivalent, whereas others don't. After another half an hour of reading and writing practice, you get used to it really fast.
Spent roughly 4 hrs of solid work on it in total. I can now start dabbling in the spoken Greek language. Let's just hope I find the Greek grammar relatively straight forward! :)

I started this book already knowing a bit of the upper-case Greek alphabet. I finished being able to sound out pretty much any Greek word I came across. I think it's a great book to start with and I've recommended it to my dad, who has been discouraged by a popular audio learning set. This book has interesting little bits of information about Greek culture and gives you plenty of exercises to practice and mini-tests at the end of each unit.

Worth the read, and definitely helpful for me to have in my back pocket while moving towards a comprehension of Ancient Greek. The exercises are really good too! Definitely builds some helpful fundamentals.

If you do struggle to understand the Greek letters, I highly recommend to go on with it. I purchased the kindle version which was relatively practical and cheaper.
