هذه الرواية خطيرة، حين تبدأ بقراءتها لن يكون بإمكانك تركها قبل أن تنهي صفحتها الأخيرة.

Bernard Lehut-RTL

I enjoyed the second half of the book so much. When I was reading the last pages until the ending, I felt something so touching. You will not expect it. Amazing story and so creative as usual !

There is something about this book that makes want to read over and over again. According to Goodreads this is my second time reading it, i am sure however it must be the sixth or even seventh time i read it since i first bought it. I just love the story and everything about it!

I was not impressed to be honest.
The first book I read by Musso was "Demain",so maybe it set the bar too high for me that I found this book quite basic.
The ending was quite surprising, even though I did somewhat see it coming.
The book is not a masterpiece, but it is not bad either. It is OK.

Usually Musso’s novels are just entertaining like a good American movie that you enjoyed but will not think about later. This novel is different, it is deep, sad, thought provoking and philosophical. There were some unneeded details at the end that weakens the main idea but still all in all it was a good read.
I think it will stick in my mind for a while.

Those who remember the TV series The Twilight Zone,, may recall a particularly creepy episode called “The Purple Testament” in which an American GI in World War II Europe has the unenviable gift of knowing who is about to die. He can see a bright light come over the faces of a wounded man in the hospital or an officer preparing for battle, and sure enough, both die quickly. As the program ends, the soldier sees the light come over his own face in the mirror as well as over the face of the driver ...more

A strange and sad book.

It is impressive through the questions it poses and the realities it points to. One out of countless reactions a human might have when faced with the ultimate question: What would you do if you knew you were going to die? There is no right or wrong answer, no easy solution. Just reflection on life and everything else.

It touches you in subtle ways. For me, it also brought a note of sadness. But despite that, the story is memorable.

There is one phrase that stayed with me to

This is one of the worst books I've ever read. I had to skip over a lot of parts so I didn't scratch my eyes out. I did not care about the characters, the writing did not move me and the plot was contrived, to say the least. A lot of it was also unbelievable. What 8 yr old child would want to get on a transatlantic flight with some old man she doesn't know? What mother would be okay with that? Nathan taking the fall for Jeffrey? Unbelievable. Basically, this book was crap. Don't read it. ...more

Top. The book that you 'eat' in day or two. And also makes you think about life and priorities.
Loved it. 5 stars.

While I enjoyed reading this book, there were a few issues that weren't to my liking. For starters, I was surprised that the book was set in New York. I knew that Guillaume Musso is a contemporary French author and I was expecting the book to be set in France. That was disappointing to me (but that's just me and only because I have a somewhat complicated history with New York). Second of all, there are things in the novel that didn't quite make sense. Arrg I read it in VNese and can't find its VNese copy here. I'm a huge fan of Guillaume Musso, he was born a collaboration of Marc Levy and Stephen King. And this book, it likes....after all those bad or good things happened, the most painful moment is when a man already knows that how to get freaking silly 'special ability' stater pack: seeing the 'love of his life' dies before his eyes and he has no choice wtf??? But Afterwards... (name of the book in English so I type it uppercase), I love ho ...more

I can always count on Mr. Guillaume Musso to put me in a better mood and lift my spirit. This is the third book I read written by him and I really enjoyed it. His books have a common denominator - the plots are very original and sometimes a bit fantasy-like, they are read very quickly, the writing is very basic, more like a movie script, but throughout the book and in the end you are left with a warm and bitter sweet feeling. This one was no exception - I read it yesterday in one sitting and kee ...more

By the last 200 pages, things picked up a little, I think because his wife and daughter are far more interesting. I expected that ending but the last detail broke my heart. All in all I don't think I was in the mood to read it, although I have been reading about self harm, murder, cults... But life and death described to you through memories makes it more real. I still stand by my first judgement, it was a load of clichés and too much description. I believe if it was shorter it would have b

The amazing story of Nathan del Amico, a prominent lawyer of New York, how he deals with the upcoming and important changes in his successful life; death. I don't want to give any spoiler; all the book is filled up with surprises.

This is the first book I read in french and every single page was worth it, I couldn't stop turning each page. I completely recommend this book, you will love each character and the story from beginning to end.

One of the most popular authors in France today. From his early childhood with reading books and plays, Guillaume Musso became convinced that one day, he too would write novels. After finishing high school in France, Guillaume Musso left for the United States at the age of 19. He spent several months in New York City, living with other young foreigners and earning his money by selling ice-cream. H ...more
