I love Formula 1 racing, but I never knew too much about the classic drivers that you still hear talk about in this day and age. It was fantastic learning more about drivers such as Jim Clark, Jackie Stewart, Graham Hill, Steve Ginther, Dan Gurney, and of course Juan Manuel Fangio. It is a dangerous sport; even more so in the 50's and 60's, and the list of drivers killed in action reads like a who's who of motor sports.
I was very please with this book. Roght.

It's been a long time since I followed Formula 1, but when I was a kid I probably knew more about Phil Hill and Sterling Moss than I did about any baseball player.

A beautiful book, filled with remarkable photos, and plenty of first hand accounts of what it was like to drive the Formula 1 circuit in the 50's and 60's.

Real cool.

I want to get in a time machine and go to LeMans, 1961.

Five stars for the wonderful selection of pictures from the Klementaski Collection, including many by the man himself. One star deleted for the inaccuracies, stupidities and regurgitated myths in the captions. If only someone like Doug Nye had been asked to cast an eye over them before it went to print. NOT TO BE USED FOR REFERENCE. Just enjoy the pictures.
