This a 1968 copyright/re-issue 1977 romantic suspense novel. Technically placed in the Gothic romance/mystery that was so popular at this time. I picked this one up at a local PB swap store. I collect these, BTW, so if anyone knows where I can find similar books in at least GC let me know. This book is only a little over 200 pages. I almost gave this 2 1/2 stars but decided that was a bit mean. And yet 3 stars seems generous.
The story is gripping and yet frustrating. Its more of a psychological thriller than a 'who dunnit '. A girl is accused of murder. Things keep happening to make her look more guilty and dillusional. No one believes her. Everyone seems against her. Heck, by the time I 'm 3/4 through I 'm the one ready to jump a cliff nevermind the heroine.

It was like watching a Lifetime mystery movie.... You cant help

I'm giving it 4 out of 5 even though I don't know if it will stay in my library or not. Nice diversion. Some nice characters, but would have been better with a ...more
