Dr. Miriam Nelson gives first rate advice on protecting and helping your back. Usually her books cover a broader spectrum (staying young, arthritis, weight loss) that is helped through strength training. This book focuses on the back and how to minimize injury while strengthening the muscles that surround it. She also looks at alternative therapies, nutrition and even what to expect with back surgery, if necessary.

I've liked everything I've read by Miriam Nelson. She has a pleasant but strong and direct way of presenting information. Also has very convincing arguments as well as do-able solutions. This one targets the back. Her specialty is making people feel and look 20 years younger through fitness. No wonder she is popular!
