“If you love something, set it free; if it doesn’t come back, it was never meant to be”

For Mindy Mayes, it wasn’t a "something" she had to selflessly set free but rather a “someone”. Her childhood best friend and estranged homosexual husband, Arran, grew up knowing that he had a preference for men but due to pressure from his family he opts to marry a woman. Mindy knows the score going in but has hope that time and love will make an uncomfortable situation at least tolerable. She didn’t count o

The premise of this book is pretty darn hawt. Hubby leaves the wife for a male lover hurts, but when hubby and said male lover want a threesome? WOOHOO! And this could be a perfect triad, even better! Mindy gets it on with Sav and Arran. Queue in the 70's porn music because it does get steamy!

The sex was good in this book, no doubt about it. The conflict in this book was messed up. Talk about plot holes.

1. Arran speaks with Mindy every day for more or less the past three years since he left her

I usually do not like books where divorce or cheating is involved. But there was much more involved then what was stated in the blurb. I am glad I read this story even with my reservations and I recommend it as a great menage story.

By the way, I did not receive this book from the author or the publisher but purchased it for my reading.

It will be one that I will reread again. I am also going to get her back list as this is the second book that I have read which I liked by her.

Tangled Up is a novella written in first-person and tells the story of Arran, his lover Sav and his ex-wife Mindy.

Initially, Arran appears despondent, unsettled and confused. Although sure of himself within his relationship with Sav, his footing isn't quite as steady when it comes to his ex-wife and close friend, Mindy. Arran is a man who loves his partner, Sav, but can't help loving his ex-wife Mindy at the same time. As the story develops, and I came to understand the players in the game more,

This just felt a bit odd to me. I felt the tangled up emotions of the characters and the heat between them was good, but the rest of the story fell completely flat. The part with Khloe and Ronan could have been left out, and the story would have been better. It just felt like the author threw a random conflict in to create tension with no real cause for it.

Recommends it for: no one
I usually never score a book so low. But this one had me lost. And it was so short. Don't get me wrong I enjoy a good short story as well as any other but this one took too many short cuts to get to the point and confused the shit out of me. And the sex was blahblah.

An interesting story, I just thought it went by too quickly. There should have been a little more about the prior relationship, maybe a prologue?

I write romance, the hotter the better. I love racing and including racing and art into my writing. I'm published with the Wild Rose Press and Total-E-Bound.
