The text of the Pledge of Allegiance is illustrated with stunning photographs of American landscapes, monuments, and flags. The meaning of the pledge, its history, and information about the flag are included.
This is a short book that only has the words of the pledge of allegiance. There are two pages at the end of the book that give information on the backround and other relevant information about the United States of America. Each page has a picture that pertains to the section of the pledge, many include children.
I gave this book 5 stars because it uses good pictures that will interest the reader. The pledge is broken up very well and for this reason would be a very good tool for memorization. I also like that there are some additional information pages in the back of the book.
This book reads the pledge of allegiance along with the kids, and then at the end of the book, it gives facts about The Pledge of Allegiance. It also has pictures in it that go along with the words and the United States. On the back, it tells about when it was written and who wrote it.
This book is very informational and an easy way to explain the Pledge of Allegiance to your students. I would definitely want this in my class when teaching about this. Five stars because this book is very easy to read.
This book is exactly as the title states. The book goes through the entire pledge of allegiance, with a new verse being on each page. At the end of the book, the book includes some facts about the pledge of allegiance as well as the United States in general. This book could work well as a read aloud for younger students, but could also be great as an independent read. I am giving this one a three simply for the fact that it would not be very challenging to read for students who are already familiar with the pledge.
This book is a basic book to help children understand and memorize the Pledge of Allegiance. The images that are put in the book are well fit to go along with the story plot. Each picture is out in there to go along with each word in the pledge. I believe the use of this book in the classroom is important because it allows kids to see the words as they say them. I would give this book a 4/5 stars. I believe that the content is displayed well but it could use better illustrations.
I am in love with my country. I am very glad that I found such a phenomenal children’s book to instill the patriotic spirit into all the children I read this book to.
Definitely a book a child needs to have in their library to remind them of the great country that they were fortunately born as a free child of the founding fathers.
This book states The Pledge of Allegiance, with several pure American pictures photographed on each page. This book is a good way to help children memorize the pledge of allegiance by corresponding the words with pictures.
This story describes the important of the Pledge of Allegiance and why it is said in public or in schools today. I would give the story three out of five stars for its informational value.
The Pledge of Allegiance by Francis Bellamy is about the pledge of allegiance. This book uses bright pictures on each page showing how to say the pledge of allegiance. It gives you a brief history of the flag and facts about it. Along with history of our pledge of allegiance.
I gave this book 4 stars because it is a book that teaches kids important lessons about our history of our american flag and the history of our pledge of allegiance to our flag and our country. This book can be great for kids to learn this and can be used for many activities in the classroom for social studies. I would reccomend this book for a great history lesson.
This was such an amazing book. Definitely 5 out of 5. The pictures definitely told the story of the pledge of allegiance! My favorite part of this book was the final pages were cool facts about the pledge of allegiance. This would be a great book for a classroom of most ages to help children remember the words of the Pledge of Allegiance, but also look at the pictures and understand the importance of the words.
I really liked the idea of this book! Each page had a different phrase from the Pledge of Allegiance and had a picture or multiple pictures to go along with the phrase. I didn't love their choice of pictures; it seems like there could have been better pictures chosen to represent the phrases or America better. I really liked how at the end of the book they had a couple of pages explaining some of the pictures that were shown throughout the book and giving facts and history about the Pledge of Allegiance, the American flag, and American history. It's a good way to teach young children about the history of America, and instill patriotism.
"The Pledge of Allegiance" written by Francis Bellamy is the book I chose for the Social Studies genre. It is written at the first or second grade reading level. Each page of the book as part of the Pledge of Allegiance and gives a picture to go along with that aspect of the Pledge. The end of the book also gives facts about the American flag and explains what the Pledge means. When learning about our nations symbols this would be a great informational text for kids, during Social Studies. There are no content concerns for this book.
Would have appreciated this more when I was teaching the girls the pledge a few years ago. Still a nice book with great pictures. I wish they had included more history or better pictures at the end. Also, it always bugs me when people separate "one nation" pause "under God" (they split this up on two pages) as there is NO comma and it is traditionally written on one line! I hate the pause!! It is one phrase.
"The Pledge of Allegiance" is clearly a very basic book with simple illustrations, but the power behind the meaning of the book is what makes it great. I like this book because it teaches children the words to the pledge of allegiance, and it gives pictures that relate to those words, making it easier to understand. This may be an easy read, especially for older aged children, but it is a book that is a great tool for teachers to use when talking about the United States.
This is a good book to use during Social Studies because it is about the "Pledge of Allegiance." This would be great to use for a lesson when teaching children to recite the "Pledge of Allegiance." It would be great to also use this book to discuss what the "Pledge of Allegiance" means to students and to get their ideas about the "Pledge of Allegiance."
This book is the words of the pledge with pictures that put meaning to the words. Through the illustrations, students are able to see what the pledge means and if they don’t know the pledge already, can learn it through this book. This is a great book to use to teach the pledge to students and to put meaning to the words and explain to them why we say it.
A great tool for teaching the pledge of allegiance line by line, but also a great tool for explaining the meaning of each line. Some of the language of the Pledge of Allegiance is tricky for young students to understand so it put it in other terms is helpful for them. In addition to the American pictures that show different areas of the country.
Relevant photos of our country for each line of the "Pledge of Allegiance." A great way to introduce our flag and the "Pledge of Allegiance." A great patriotic feeling and some historical information in the back as well.
I purchased this book years ago to help my kids learn The Pledge of Allegiance. The text is large and the photographs are beautiful. It also gives an explanation of what it means and the days to display the flag.
I loved this book! It's a very simple book that is better for younger kids learning about the purpose in this great nation. The ending glossary is great as it shows you many of the symbols and history of the pledge of allegiance. Great book to show patriotism in a fun little book.
I love America and this book just made me so happy to see different parts of this great country and the people who make it up. I also found it to be very informative about the flag. I even learned things I didn't know.
This book teaches kids the pledge of allegiance and has lots of helpful information about when to display the flag and what the pledge of allegiance means.
